My tried and true favorite moisturizer since high school has been Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 15. No matter how much I stray I always come back to this moisturizer as it simply works well for my skin, keeps me moisturized without breaking me out. On my latest trip to Trader Joe’s I came across the Enrich Moisturizing Face Lotion and the bottle really reminded me of my Olay (which I was running low on) so I picked it up to try. I’m so glad that I did as it’s a keeper!
The Trader Joes Enrich Moisturizing Face Lotion contains broad spectrum SPF 15 just like the Olay in the form of Octinoxate and Zinc Oxide. SPF 15 may not be much but at least it’s something. I currently use a primer and foundation that both contain SPF as well so I’m not worried. Let’s take a closer look at the rest of the ingredients…
The first ingredient is Allantoin which is an anti-irritant and skin protectant. It soothes and conditions irritated skin and improves the regeneration of damaged cells. The next ingredient is Ascorbic Acid or Vitamin C which has anti-aging benefits and works as an antioxidant. Other key ingredients include Glycerin and Vitamins A & E. what it does not include is parabens which gives it a boost over my Olay as it contains a few. It is also cruelty free.
The bottle has a flip top lid making it easy to dispense just the right amount.
The lotion is very lightweight and sinks right into the skin without leaving you greasy. My primer and makeup applies perfectly over the lotion and stays all day, and although it says nothing about oil control my t-zone stays in check better. I don’t have to blot at all. I guess this is because it’s so lighweight and absorbs well without sitting on top of the skin. If you have dry skin it may not be a very good choice for you since it’s so lightweight but if you have combo or oily skin it’s a winner.
I’ve been using the Enrich Moisturizing Face Lotion for almost 2 weeks now without any adverse effects, no breakouts or rashes. My skin actually has been glowing and looking great. At $3.99 it’s half the cost of my beloved Olay and it performs just as well with a better set of ingredients. I may just have a permanent substitute on my hands if it continues to perform well.
