I’m all moved in and finished decorating my new apartment. I’ll be doing an apartment decor tour soon. But I could not wait to do a reveal of my modern minimalist glam bedroom as this room is very special to me. At forty years old I finally have my own bedroom. Growing up I shared a room with my sister. I moved out with roommates and then shared a room with my son. When I moved into my first apartment I could only afford a one bedroom. So I gave the room to my son because I wanted him to have his own space. And set up a little corner for myself in the livingroom. This was supposed to be a temporary setup. Instead I ended up staying in that apartment for 17 years until I decided to leave NYC and moved into my new place- which has two bedrooms.
Inspired by my hotel in Tulum, I wanted this room to be a serene space with a bohemian vibe. Additionally, I wanted the space to feature a minimalist design with modern style furniture and glam elements. It was important that I had not only an office area, but a vanity as well since my bedroom is large enough to comfortably accommodate both. In my old apartment I had to share a space as both my home office and beauty area and eventually gave up on the idea of having a vanity. A dedicated office space was just more important. My glam bedroom would not have been complete without a vanity so I am happy to now have the best of both worlds.

Of course I had to add some plants to my room with all of this sun coming in. Basically it would have been a sin if I didn’t. Besides… you can NEVER have too many plants.
Overall my modern minimalist glam bedroom turned out exactly how I envisioned. Natural colored wood complements the abundance of natural light in the room for a calm and laid back vibe. While a neutral color palette keeps things minimalist and cozy. Oversized teal throw pillows adds a dose of color. Also, in Feng Shui the color teal is a powerful symbol of abundance and can help attract wealth, prosperity, success- and all the good things I need in my life right now. Doses of gold and fur add the glam element that I desired. Lastly, I wanted an accent piece above my bed with a minimalist design that didn’t take away from the rest of the decor. This large bamboo fan does exactly that and is hands down my favorite piece in the whole entire room.

Not only do I now have my own bedroom, I also have not one- but two closets. One of which is a walk in and I can’t wait to give y’all a look inside. Previously I had to use the closet in my son’s room. This became very inconvenient as he got older and required a bit more privacy. Now we both get to enjoy our privacy. And oh, my son has a walk in closet in his room as well. I worked so hard to get here and truly thank God for this come up and all of my blessings.
