Swiingz Restaurant Review

Your sis has been getting out a little more now that outside is open. I’m still not comfortable in crowds. So I’ve mostly been just dining out and attending family functions (with my mask in tow). My son’s 19th birthday was last month. To celebrate I took him to lunch at Swiingz Restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed our time out.

Swiingz London Telephone Booth

Swiingz is a black-owned, Caribbean restaurant located on the border of BedStuy and Crown Heights. The instagrammable interior features a chic red leather swing along with a London telephone booth.

Swiingz Bar

There’s a full sit down bar with two large flat screen televisions making it a perfect spot to watch the game. But most importantly, Swiingz has some bomb food and a chill vibe…

19th Birthday Outfit
Swiingz Oxtail Pasta

My son had the Swiingz Oxtail Pasta- a rasta pasta dish served with oxtails. He was super impressed with his meal and had plenty left over to take home. He also had a virgin strawberry daiquiri which he found to be refreshing on a hot (it was REALLY hot) day.

Swiingz Crab Legs

I went with the Crab Legs, served with broccoli and corn on the cob. To my surprise it was king crab legs. I was expecting regular old snow crab. So this made my day. The crab was fresh, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I’m greedy. So I also ordered a side of mac n’ cheese. It was a little overcooked and under seasoned in my opinion. I still ate it though. Your sis don’t waste no food lol. I stole a taste of my son’s rasta pasta and that was deelish. I’m mad that I didn’t order a side of the vegetable pasta instead. Next time.

Rum and Casamigos Punch

Anyway, I also had a Frozen Rum & Casamigos Punch that had me feeling nice. Real real nice.

Mom and Son Twinning

Overall we enjoyed our meal. The portions were decent, prices fair and my drink was strong. The waitress was quick to accommodate our requests and had a pleasant demeanor. I’ll definitely be paying Swiingz another visit as I really want to try the Escovitch Fish and a few other things on the menu. Next time I plan to stop by with my girls and see what the night time, grown folk scene looks like!

Swiingz is located at 1542 Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY 11216
