Merry Christmas to you and yours, from me and mines. I usually just take selfies or let someone else take a quick shot of my son and myself for the holidays. But this year I decided to pull out my tripod and take some 2020 Mom and Son Holiday Photos. You see, these photos mean the world to me. They represent survival. Survival in the midst of a pandemic, when so many others are no longer here this holiday season. I am especially grateful that I was able to take these holiday photos with my son as he is a COVID survivor.

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that my son had the coronavirus and was not able to come home from college for Thanksgiving. He had to stay on campus and quarantine for two weeks. I’ve never been so afraid in my life. My son experienced flu like symptoms along with a hacking cough, severe headaches, burning eyes, stomach pain- and he lost his sense of taste and smell. He’s actually just getting his senses completely back after five weeks. But my son survived and we are thankfully past that now. I didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving until my son was home, and I had a late Thanksgiving Fish Fry for just the two of us.

I am grateful to have my son home for Christmas, and so glad that I’ll have these 2020 Mom and Son Holiday Photos as a reminder of what we survived. This brings me joy in spite of what’s happening in the world. I hope my story and these photos will bring you a little joy today as well.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Stay safe! xo
