The ankle boot is a Fall staple. I have multiple pairs since they’re so versatile. You can wear ankle boots with jeans and pants, skirts, dresses. Pretty much everything. Since I wear my ankle boots so much, comfort is key. Especially for commuting and when I need to be on my feet at work. I may be in the minority these days, but I like to stick to classic, pointed toe styles as they can easily be dressed up or down. I have however traded in my stiletto heels for the block heel. We’ll talk about that more later. But the Marc Fisher Retire Bootie not only meets all of my requirements for the perfect work ankle boot, they’re also perfect for after work play. Not that we’re experiencing any of that right now. At least I’m not. Hello, it’s still a pandemic.

Marc Fisher Retire Bootie Review

What I love most about the Marc Fisher Retire Bootie is the unique curved heel. It gives what’s otherwise a basic ankle boot some edge. The heel is also not that high at 2 3/4 inches. So they’re extremely comfortable. I can wear them all day without my arches hurting. And although they have a pointy toe, they don’t pinch your toes if you get the correct size. I find that the boot runs true to size. But get a half size up if you want to wear thick socks. The Retire Bootie comes in 12 different styles and a few new ones are added to the line up every year. I love them so much that I now have three pairs. I snatched up the smooth black leather ankle boot this year, the leopard calf hair boot last year and the snake print boot two years ago.

THE BLACK LEATHER BOOTIE

I used to wear the highest of high stiletto heels to work. You couldn’t tell me shit stomping through the streets of NYC on my stilts. I’d wear my heels all day at work. Then dance all night at the after work parties. When I took my shoes off at the end of the night, my dogs would be barking. I didn’t care though. It was all about being cute. Gone are those days. Aside from my aging knees not letting me be great, I’m just not into super high heels anymore. Especially not stilettos after one too many ankle twists and sprained arches. These days I only wear them when I’m doing minimal walking- from car to seat.

I’m now on team block heel. Especially when it comes down to my work ankle boots. The Marc Fisher Retire Bootie is work ankle boot perfection. The pointed toe and curved block heel is chic & sexy. The almost 3 inch heel still gives me a little boost in height. And more importantly, they are extremely comfortable.
