It was a sad day in makeup history when Urban Decay announced that they were discontinuing the original Naked Palette back in August. I myself couldn’t believe it. It’s still my most used palette. Not only for myself, but it’s my go to for bridal makeup. I’m crushed. But I have an unopened back up and I’m still using my first one. So I’m good. You can get an original Naked Palette for half price here before their gone for good. Anyway, before we’ve had a chance to truly mourn the original there’s a new Naked Palette in town. Meet the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette.
The Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette features twelve new shades in gorgeous gold and berry hues. I’m not going to do a detailed review as the formula remains the same. The eyeshadows are still buttery smooth and extremely pigmented. If you need more details check out my reviews of the Naked, Naked 2 and Naked Heat palettes. If you’ve seen one of my Naked reviews then you’ve seen them all.
I will be creating all sorts of gorgeous looks this Fall and holiday season. Drunk Dial & Privacy will be my go tos as they pair perfectly. I can honestly do without the first five shades though.
Not only did Urban Decay give us the Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette, they gave us an entire Naked Cherry Collection. The Naked Cherry Vice Lipstick is available in 3 shades. Cherry is a purplish burgundy with a satin finish. Devilish and Juicy have shimmer finishes and are not really my cup of tea. But they will probably be pretty for the holiday season paired with liner and gloss. Read on for swatches.
The Naked Cherry 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils feature Black Market, a rich satin black. Along with Love Drug, a metallic burgundy. I’m always grateful for a new black eyeliner pencil as I wear them on my waterline almost daily. The 24/7 Glide-On pencils are a favorite of mine as they truly glide on smooth and don’t budge.
The Naked Cherry Highlighter & Blush Palette features a “universally flattering” highlighter, blush and skin topper. Brown girls don’t even bother as this palette is not for us. The highlighters are wearable but that blush will have you looking ashy. Moving on, here’s swatches of the lipsticks, eye pencils and highlighter & blush palette…
Here’s a quick look I did with Drunk Dial all over the lid, Privacy blended into the crease and lower lash line, and Black Market on my waterline. That’s Cherry on my lips. And I set the look with the Naked Cherry All Nighter Setting Spray which is just a lightly cherry scented version of the original. I didn’t see a difference in how well my makeup wore though. I wasn’t too fond of the lipstick as I had to reapply it too often. But I absolutely love the Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette. Definitely pick it up if you don’t have anything similar. Honestly you can pass on the rest of the collection.
