If you watch my Instagram Stories (and you should) then you’ve seen my unboxing videos. It’s a great way to get a peek at beauty goodies before they come to the blog. And see the products that don’t make it. I’ve been receiving lots of new makeup from brands PR for Spring, and it makes me so excited for the upcoming season. I’ll be giving y’all the 411 on these goodies over the next few weeks. Let’s start with the Urban Decay Backtalk Palette and Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Glosses.
The Limited Edition Urban Decay Backtalk Palette features a rose toned theme with eight eyeshadows, and four complimentary blush and highlighter shades. A removable, double sided mirror serves as a divider between the eye and face shades. The palette is perfect for traveling and doing your makeup on the go.
The eyeshadow shades are extremely diverse and will look good on any complexion or skin tone. They apply smooth and buttery with good pigmentation. I am in love with WTF and 180. They make the perfect combo for an everyday nude eye.
The two blush shades Cheap Shot and Double Take are not dark skin friendly. Unless you want to look ashy. I’d suggest using them as eyeshadows instead. But Low Key and Party Foul are gorgeous highlighters. They melt right into the skin leaving a gorgeous glow.
Urban Decay also sent over the Backtalk Vice Lipstick and some complimentary shades of the 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils. The lipstick and pencils compliment the Backtalk Palette well.
The Backtalk Vice Lipstick is a warm-toned mauve cream. I’m not really a fan of mauve lipsticks, just a personal preference. But it’s a beautiful shade with great pigmentation. And it’s permanent.
Now it’s time to talk about the Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss. In case you haven’t noticed the trend, matte lipstick is hitting the back burner, and lip gloss is taking over for Spring. I haven’t been a huge fan of gloss since I got into lipstick in my twenties. Back then lip gloss was super thick and sticky, and my lips would peel from the dryness. Ain’t none of that cute. But man has lip gloss evolved. The Hi-Fi Shine Gloss is moisturizing and comfortable on the lips thanks to Vitamin E and Peppermint Oil. The vanilla mint flavor doesn’t leave a plastic taste in my mouth. And did I mention that it comes in 20 shades with four different finishes? Yup. Cream, Sheer Cream, Metallic and Holographic. Let’s start with the creams…
1993 is the perfect nude gloss. I know I’ll be reaching for it on the regular. The bright shades are perfect when you want a subtle pop of color on the lips without the commitment to a lipstick. Since gloss is so easy to touch up. Next we have the sheer creams and the metallics…
The first three are sheer creams and the other four are metallic. Shadowheart is the perfect sparkling brown for chocolate skin. Goldmine is a stunner and will have the lips poppin on a sizzlin summer night. Last but not least are the holographic glosses…
Two words… Snapped. Gawjus!
I used the Backtalk Palette for this toned down, yet sexy look. I’m wearing 180 all over the lid blended with WTF, and Party Foul to highlight my cheek bones. I’m also wearing The Hi-Fi Shine Gloss in 1993.
