When I think of Double Denim, I think of the denim suits I wore in high school. You know the matching denim jacket and jeans by brands like Guess, Todd Oldham & Girbaud? I had all flavors of denim suits. Light, Medium and Dark. Dark was my favorite. I even had a few printed versions. Come on, don’t act like y’all didn’t have that Guess leopard print denim suit lol. It was fly back then, but not a look I want to be rocking at age 35.
I usually stick with pairing denim shirts with jeans for the double denim look. When I pair my denim jacket with jeans, I try to make sure that it’s not too matchy matchy. But you can pull off the matching denim look as an adult without reverting to your teen self. Try a denim duster instead of your usual denim jacket.
