I kicked off New York Fashion Week at the first ever The Makeup Show Trend Report event. It was a fun evening filled with cocktails, conversation and playing in makeup. Makeup Artist Extraordinaries James Vincent and Danessa Myricks gave a run down of the hottest Spring 2017 Beauty Trends, along with their favorite products to get the looks. Beauty brands Crown Brush, Danessa Myricks Beauty, Make Up For Ever, Mehron, NYX and Temptu showcased their latest launches for the season. Here’s the hottest Spring 2017 Beauty Trends along with products you need to get the looks!
1. Skin Is In
First of all, skin is always in. No cake face allowed. Try a light foundation with a soft matte finish that allows the skin to shine through. And apply only where needed. You can also use a tinted moisturizer if you don’t require much coverage. Spot conceal for additional coverage.

2. Make Me Blush
Less is more. A natural flush, blended well with no harsh lines is best. James suggested applying reds and pinks to just the apples of the cheeks, and blending corals and browns up the cheekbone. James also suggested layering different textures like powder over cream, rather than just using powder alone.

3. Prominent Pout
Express yourself easily and effortlessly with a bright, bold lip. While mattes are still in, cream formulas are a great choice as well. Try an unconventional color like blue and really stand out. Use a lip stain for long wearing color.

4. Just Glow For It
Glowing skin and highlighting works for all ages and complexions. So go on ahead and get your glow on. Danessa suggested trying a multidimensional glowing effect by using 3 three different shades or finishes of highlighter. As a result, there will be more dimension in the face. I’m most excited for this Spring 2017 beauty trend!

5. In Color
Color is in and can be used on any area of the face. Try a bold, bright eyeshadow or eyeliner. Or the blue lip that we talked about earlier. The options are endless. But you should stick with long-wearing formulas that won’t fade throughout the day.

6. Up In Smoke
The Smokey Eye is back (although I’m not sure when it left). It’s always a good look in my book. James suggested to build the look with texture- a combination of pencil, cream and powder. Danessa stated that black is the ultimate backdrop for texture (and color). She also stated that what makes a smokey eye is the saturation of color on the lash line, and dissipate as you reach the upper lid. Oh, and don’t just think black, try a metallic smokey eye!

7. Glossing It Over
Eye Gloss is big. Wear it alone, or layer it over your favorite eye products!

8. The Glitterati
Finally, glitter is now sophisticated. Try a bold and daring look or a soft sparkle. Danessa suggested combining a variety of particle sizes and multidimensional color. Another trick James suggested is to mix your favorite glitter and pigment in similar shades.
