I dread NYC winters. It’s too damn cold to try to be cute. In comes the down coat. The down coat has a come a long way. No longer are they frumpy and ill fitting. Today’s options are super fashionable with curve hugging silhouettes, funky fabrics and lots of faux fur.
Most days I just throw on a sweater with jeans, and tall boots. Add a fly down coat and stunner shades, and you’d never guess how boring my outfit really is underneath. My down coat also comes in handy on the rare occasion that I wear a dress or skirt. It keeps me warm and shielded from the cold, especially when combined with tall boots.

Animal prints are neutrals in my wardrobe, and I love this dress. I’ve had it since about 2012 (you’ve seen it here), but I’m considering retiring it. It’s a little too short for my current taste. And my bootie makes it rise even more when I walk, requiring me to constantly pull it down. That’s a no go. We had a good run though.
