Right behind a little black dress, my favorite is a little royal blue dress. I feel like royalty when I wear royal blue. It’s just something about the way the shade looks against my skin that I love. And I’m not just saying that because I’m a Zeta either lol. Anyway, this zippered midi dress fits like a glove. It hugs every curve, but not so tight that I couldn’t wear it to work (with a blazer of course). My preferred length for dresses and skirts is midi as it’s work appropriate without looking matronly.
Speaking of work, The Glamorous Gleam’s 7th Anniversary is right around the corner and I’ve been working hard prepping for the new blog year. Makeup looks, makeup & hair tutorials and my personal style, along with style tips will be top priority as it was when I first started this blog. I’ve shifted my focus multiple times over the years, but that’s where my passion lies. I will still be doing product reviews. But mainly for newly released products that piqued my interest, my favorites , and unique finds. More importantly, the focus will be on products that cater to us Brown Girls. The Lifestyle element will also remain as I enjoy giving you guys a glimpse into my personal life and sharing my musings. Sometimes you never know what people are going through and how your story can help them.
Now back to my royal blue dress, this is actually a repeat outfit. I wore this dress along with the accessories for my son’s graduation but didn’t get to photograph it. The low scoop neck on the dress is perfect for pairing a statement necklace. I was feeling daring, so I also wore a blue lip. These fringe sandals and a doughnut bun finished off the look nicely.
