Last Summer, MAC extended their powder blush line up with nine permanent shades. Some of the shades were new releases, while others were brought back from past collections. One of the new shades was Film Noir Blush, inspired by the lipstick. As soon as I swatched Film Noir I knew that it would be perfect for contouring. I’ve been obsessed with using cream contours for months, but I’ve now been using Film Noir Blush to contour my face every day since I picked it up.
Film Noir Blush is described as a rich warm chocolate, and that it is. It’s a deep chocolate brown with slight red undertones, and a matte finish. The shade and pigmentation makes it perfect for contouring deeper complexions. Speaking of pigmentation, Film Noir is extremely pigmented so you have to use a very light hand to avoid looking bruised, and the right brush is key. I find that if you don’t use an appropriate brush it applies patchy, so I highly suggest a contour brush like the Sephora Pro Full Coverage Airbrush #53, e.l.f. Blending Brush or the e.l.f. Ultimate Kabuki Brush. Apply a light layer and build it up to your desired intensity.
Film Noir stays put all day without fading. It gives me a bomb cheekbone contour and I receive so many compliments and inquiries as to what I’m wearing. For the brown skinned beauties looking for the perfect contour powder to compliment your deeper skin, Film Noir Blush is it. Girl, go get you some!

This looks gorgeous!
Thank you!
I love this too!!! I also use it on my eyebrows when I want something warmer than Embark eyeshadow… I’m doing a blonde ombré now so Fim Noir is being used on both my brows and my contour! I love blending it out with some Raisin blush and adding a sickening highlight. Looks super pretty on u ?
Thank you so much. That’s exactly what I did here. I’m wearing Raizin Blush and the Rose Gold shade from the Golden Lariat Mineralize Skinfinish from the MAC Wonder Woman Collection.
