Just when I thought I had enough vamp lipsticks in my collection, my cousin gifted me MAC Sin for Christmas and I fell in love. It’s perfect for the Winter season but can be worn all year round. I’ll be wearing it well into Spring and Summer. I couldn’t believe that I didn’t have it in my collection already but I figured out why. I’ll explain in a little bit.
MAC Sin is a deep, dark blue red matte. A true burgundy. I pulled out all of the similar shades in my collection to see if I had any dupes, and I did. That’s why the shade looked so familiar.
MAC Sin, MAC Talk That Talk (LE), Wet ‘n Wild Cherry Bomb (918D), L’Oreal Zoe’s Red, Sleek Cranberry (LE)
Sin and Talk That Talk are pretty much dupes, but Sin is so much better. Talk That Talk was a complete disappointment. It’s super dry, patchy and just doesn’t wear well. Sin is exactly what I wanted Talk That Talk to be. Cherry Bomb is close but it has a little more Red in it, and is not as matte. Zoe’s Red and Cranberry are both lighter.
MAC Sin is extremely pigmented and applies smooth, but it’s also very dry. You must exfoliate well and apply a moisturizing lip balm prior to application. It wears well for at least 4 hours without needing a touch up. If you were excited about Talk That Talk and felt let down, then you’ll definitely want Sin. It’s simply the bomb and I’m so glad to add it to my collection. I’m sending big hugs and kisses to my cousin for knowing me so well. If you love MAC Sin but want to save some coins, Wet n’ Wild Cherry Bomb is close enough to achieve the same look!

GOTTA get Sin now!!!! It’s gorgeous on you!!
Thanks hun. It will look great on you!
Sin was one of the first deep vampy lipsticks I purchased. I thought I was the only one who wore dark lipsticks year round! LOL. I think I choose my lipstick based on my mood. LOL It looks amazing on you! as usual!
Thanks girl. I know Sin looks gorgeous on you. I choose my lipsticks depending on my mood as well and/or what I’m wearing. So there’s no barriers on the type of color I’ll choose! 🙂
I told my friend talk that talk and sin was dupes of each other. That is Mac for you 🙂
Yup, always releasing similar shades!
Erica you look fabulous in all shades of lipstick. I love the Sin lipstick but I don’t think it would look good on me. I am going to try it though.
Thank you so much. Don’t knock it until you try it, I’m sure it will look gorgeous!
Are you wearing it with any lipliner?
Nope, no lip liner
