Paula’s Choice is a brand that has recently captured my heart, I’m totally in love with their Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant and it’s a staple in my skin care arsenal. I was extremely excited to receive a complimentary skin consultation from Paula’s Choice with suggested products for my skin concerns. My skin doesn’t give me too much trouble- I just have an oily t-zone and occasional hormonal breakouts that leave dark spots. After discussing my concerns with the consultant, I was sent over the Paula’s Choice RESIST Advanced Kit for Wrinkles + Breakouts which is geared toward combination and oily skin, with detailed instructions on when and how to use the products.

Paula's Choice RESIST review

The first step of my routine is the RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser, which targets oil. The cleanser has a lotion like texture but lightly foams to easily remove oil and makeup. I always remove my makeup first with an oil based remover so I use the cleanser after that step, along with my Clarisonic MIA. My skin is left feeling super clean without feeling stripped.

I follow the cleanser with the RESIST Weightless Advanced Repairing Toner, an anti-aging toner that shrinks pores and calms redness from breakouts. It removes any leftover traces of dirt and makeup, and leaves my skin feeling moisturized and refreshed.

Next up, the RESIST Daily Pore-Refining Treatment 2% BHA. I get a bunch of white heads around my nose and on my chin, and this light-weight, liquid exfoliant has been keeping them under control. It quickly dries out any pimples that pop up, and keeps my skin feeling smooth.

Once a week I use the RESIST Weekly Retexturizing Foam 4% BHA, a liquid-to-foam formula loaded with salicylic acid to combat breakouts. It smells a bit funky upon application but it doesn’t linger. I can look past this as my skin looks great the day after I use this treatment. Any lingering pimples are dried out and my skin looks brighter.

As a follow up to whichever exfoliant I use, I apply the RESIST Ultra-Light Antioxidant Concentrate Serum. The light-weight, silky serum is packed with antioxidants including Vitamin C and niacin amide, along with skin-repairing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid to protect and nourish skin while fighting multiple signs of aging. It sinks in without making me look oily, and my skin feels sooooo smooth!

Paula's Choice RESIST C15 Super Booster

I mix in a drop of the RESIST C15 Super Booster with the serum to even out my skin tone. It’s loaded with 15% Vitamin C to brighten the complexion and fade dark spots. My dark spots have been fading a bit slow, but my skin looks really bright and radiant.

Next up – moisturizer. In the morning I use the RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50, a light-weight, oil-free moisturizer that fights signs of aging. It sinks in and leaves me moisturized without looking shiny, and works great under my primer and foundation.

At night I moisturize with the RESIST Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator. It’s silky smooth texture is a cross between a serum and a cream, and it leaves my skin feeling so good. When I wake up in the morning my skin is radiant and glowing, with no oil in sight.

Paula's Choice RESIST review

The products came with labels to affix to the packaging to help me remember when to use each product, but after a few days I had the routine committed to memory. I’ve been religiously following my Paula’s Choice RESIST skin care routine for about three weeks now and my skin looks great. I plan to purchase a few of the products to add to my permanent arsenal when I run out, especially the C15 Super Booster. Overall, I really like the Paula’s Choice RESIST Advanced Kit for Wrinkles + Breakouts, and Paula’s Choice products in general. They offer a 100% Money Back Guarantee (within 60 days), no animal testing and no irritating dyes or fragrances. The products are not cheap, but are still very affordable and you get what you pay for. Best of all, all of the products are available in sample sizes to allow you to trial them before you fully commit. You can receive your own FREE personal skincare consultation by calling 1-800-831-4088.
