This weekend I took my little man on one of our routine dates, and this time around my friend and her step-son joined us. We went to my current favorite restaurant, Burger & Lobster. This was my third time eating at this spot since the Summer and I don’t think I’ll tire of it anytime soon. There’s only three items on the menu and each is $20- a HUGE burger, lobster roll or an entire lobster. Each menu item comes with a side salad and an order of fries. The menu is so simple that it’s not even posted or written down anywhere.
The kid’s chose the burger option. You can add cheese and bacon for no additional cost. I’ve never had the burger before and probably won’t be trying it since I’m a Pescatarian, but both of the boys really enjoyed it and said it was delicious.
My friend and I both had the lobster roll which is what I get every time, and per usual it was divine.
Burger & Lobster’s lobster roll is bigger than most that you’ll find in NYC. It has huge chunks of lobster meat stuffed into a buttery toasted brioche bun. It’s absolutely amazing, especially with a drizzle of their specialty garlic butter sauce. Next time I’m going to try the whole lobster option to see how it fares.
The burgers were served with these cute little mustaches tucked in for “Movember”.
Everyone enjoyed their food and we were all super stuffed… but not too stuffed for dessert from my favorite doughnut spot, Dough. I usually go to the Brooklyn location but the Flatiron location is right across the street from Burger & Lobster, so I always visit after eating there.
The line was out the door and down the block. I’ve heard that this is the norm, but I’ve never experienced a super long line at either location. It’s definitely worth the wait though.
Dough’s doughnuts are hand-crafted on the premises, in small batches throughout the day. The signature flavors are inspired by Latin American culture and each has a distinct colorful personality. My favorites are Hibiscus, Salted Chocolate Caramel & Passion Fruit. They also have seasonal flavors and this time it was Pumpkin. As soon as I spotted it I knew I had to try it. Yes, I’m one of the people that go crazy over the pumpkin products this time of year lol.
It was delicious and the pumpkin seeds added a nice touch. Esean had a Mocha-Almond Crunch, while my friend and her kid had Plain Glazed and Salted Chocolate Caramel. Everyone enjoyed their choices. If you are a New Yawker or planning to visit the NYC area, then you have to put Burger & Lobster and Dough on your list of places to visit!
