The original Nails Inc. Baker Street went totally viral after Beyonce’ wore it on her first outside appearance after having Blue Ivy, and I’ve wanted it since. I added it to my mental wish list aka the list of products that I totally forget about. I have to write EVERYTHING down with my short attention span. Anyway, all of my lemmings rushed back when I saw the Nails Inc. Gel Effect Polish in Baker Street, and this time I got it on the spot.
Baker Street is a bright cobalt/royal blue creme with a high gloss shine. The Gel Effect nail polish mimics the pumping effect of a gel manicure and is formulated with plasticizer technology to give the nails a glossy pro-finish. It also contains a rare flower extract that works to condition and strengthen nails, and a high-reflection resin system which allows the gel to maintain its ultra-shine finish, providing a firm and flexible bond between gel and nail.
The polish applies like a dream, super smooth and almost opaque in one coat. It dries to a high gloss finish, even without a top coat. The rounded brush makes it easy to apply without mistakes, even on my opposite hand where I always mess up. I used a base coat, two coats of Baker Street and a quick dry topcoat. I’ve only been wearing it for two days and already managed to chip one nail, but I’m extremely rough on my nails. I type all day at my 9-5, then come home and type some more here… and let’s not talk about the opening packages, constant flow of dishes and cooking. My nails never stand a chance and I’m surprised when I make it a single day without chips.
In case y’all didn’t know, I’m a Zeta Lady so I have a thang for Royal Blue. Until now, I couldn’t find the perfect royal blue polish. Now that I have, I may have to get all of my line sisters a bottle for Christmas so they can experience the joy of Baker Street too.
