The West Indian Day Parade takes over the Crown Heights area of Brooklyn every Labor Day, and although I live near the parade route I don’t partake in the parade or any of the other weekend activities including Jouvert. Unfortunately the crime rate spikes since some people just don’t know how to act so I’d rather not take the risk. I try my best to leave town for the weekend but if I happen to be in town I stay as far away as possible or just stay home. This Labor Day I took my son out to Coney Island Beach to enjoy some fun in the sun.
It was extremely hot out and a perfect day for the beach. So we got us some Nathan’s and soaked up some rays.
I pulled out a white bikini for the occasion, this is an old one from Victoria’s Secret.

My Finger Coil-Out styled in a Faux Hawk held up in the heat with no issues. The style will probably last until next weekend. Make sure you watch my Finger Coil Out Fauxhawk Tutorial.
After hanging out at the beach we got us some ice cream and hung out on the boardwalk. It was a good day. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday weekend and Labor Day.
