YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer & Perfector Review

I've been taking the new YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer & Touche Eclat Blur Perfector for a test run. Let's see if they live up to the hype.

Yves Saint Laurent has released two new products under the Touche Eclat line up, the Touche Eclat Blur Primer & Touche Eclat Blur Perfector. I received both for review from Influenster in my latest YSL Vox Box and I was so excited to try them.

The Touche Eclat Blur Primer ($52) preps skin for foundation application by minimizing pores and smoothing skin’s texture. It’s enriched with corn oil, apricot kernel oil, passiflora oil and rice bran oil to nourish and soften skin, and is infused with subtle golden shimmer to create a radiant complexion.

The primer can be worn alone to smooth and even out the complexion, and give the skin a natural looking glow. It provides a smooth and even base for foundation application and the foundation wears well for hours. As an oily girl I try to avoid primers with oils in the ingredients as I find that they don’t hold up as long, especially in the Sumer months. That is the case with this primer, I can’t wear it on really hot and humid days as the oil in my t-zone starts to break through… but that’s where the Touche Eclat Blur Perfector comes in.

The compact is absolutely gorgeous!

The Touche Eclat Blur Perfector ($55) is a perfecting balm that transforms into a powder upon application. It can be used alone to soften skin’s imperfections, to set makeup or as a mattifying touch up to sweep away shine and imperfections. I use the perfector to touch up my makeup when I start to see oil in the t-zone. The key is to remove excess oil with an oil absorbing sheet or a piece of tissue first if you are really oily, then dab on the perfecting balm with the included puff. It removes the shine without removing my makeup and leaves me with a flawless finish. You have to be careful not to apply too much as it will start to look cakey, but you only need a small amount anyway. It comes with this fancy schmancy two compartment case to carry it along with the application puff.

Overall, I really like both the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Perfector. The Primer makes my foundation look really good and I know that I’ll be reaching for it more when it cools off, especially in the Winter when my skin is dry and needs a boost. The Perfector does a great job of refreshing my makeup and works well regardless of what primer or foundation I’m wearing. The only negative thing is that both products are very pricey but a little goes a long way. Both products can be purchased at YSL and Sephora.
