My skin has been acting really funky since I came back from my trip to Mexico, I guess it misses Mexico as much as I do. I’ve been suffering with clogged pores and random cystic acne, and my skin has been super oily. Citrus Clear had sent me over some products before I left so I decided to give them a shot as I was at my wits end and willing to try anything. This was the best decision ever as Citrus Clear solved all of my skincare woes and I’ve been using the products ever since.
Citrus Clear is a natural and holistic treatment for acne, sensitive skin and all skin types. Their product formulas use potent citrus juices, extracts, tinctures and peels to penetrate pores and proactively fight to reduce acne and prevent breakouts. These products are from the Sensitive Skin line with the exception of the mask which is from the Control Acne line. I don’t necessarily have sensitive skin but I don’t usually suffer from acne on the regular either, so the Sensitive Skin products was the better choice for me.
The Sensitive Face Wash is made with natural Tahitian Lime and smells divine, it seriously smells like key lime pie! It suds up nicely and leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean and smooth but not dry at all. It’s gentle enough to use twice a day and I use it with my Clarisonic Mia. The bottle is HUGE (8 oz.) and will last a really long time.
The Sensitive Moisturizer is lightweight and contains pink grapefruit along with organic aloe vera and other essential citrus oils. It absorbs well into the skin leaving it very moisturized without feeling heavy or greasy. I use this every night after washing with the Sensitive Face Wash and toning with Witch Hazel. It’s light enough to be worn under makeup but I don’t use it in the daytime as it does not contain sunscreen.
The Tangerine Tingle Face Scrub just as the name suggests has a strong tangerine/orange natural fragrance. It can be used as a gentle exfoliating scrub or a mask, and the longer you leave it on the more it tingles. The scrub contains glycolic acid which exfoliates dead skin cells and keeps pores from clogging, and lemon oil which helps to improve and brighten the complexion. I apply it all over my face in circular motions for about a minute to gently exfoliate, and then I leave it on for another 3-4 minutes and rinse with cool water. I do this twice a week and it removes any dry patches and leaves my skin soft and glowing.
The Pore & Blackhead Extracting Mask is my favorite product. The clay mask is formulated to clean and shrink pores with herbs and citrus essential oils to avoid future enlarged pores. I had three smallish cystic pimples the first time that I used this mask and the next day they were just dark spots which cleared up in about a week using the rest of the Citrus Clear products. I suffer from bad white heads on my chin under the lower lip and also around my nose, the mask pulled everything out and really did make my pores look smaller. I use this about every 7-10 days or as needed.
The Skin Repair Moisturizer is a premium moisturizing treatment that replenishes skin’s moisture while infusing it with ingredients to reduce and avoid fine lines and wrinkles. It contains a high concentration of organic aloe vera, vitamin c and essential fatty acids. It’s heavier than the Sensitive Moisturizer and although it absorbs well it’s best used as an overnight treatment as it’s very concentrated. I use this on the days that I use the Tangerine Tingle and Extracting Mask. I wake up with soft, supple and glowing skin. This is definitely not for daytime wear or use under makeup.
Overall, I really like the Citrus Clear lineup. It has worked wonders for my skin this Summer and I plan to let my son try the products when he comes home as he’s now a teen and starting to complain about pimples lol. Maybe the products will work for him as well!
