Japonesque Solid Brush Cleaner Review

I recently tried my very first solid brush cleanser (the Beautyblender Blendercleanser) and I loved how easily it removed all of the built up foundation from my Beautyblenders. I vowed that I would try more solid brush cleaners, so when Japonesque sent over their Gentle Goat-Milk Cleansing Balm it put a big smile on my face. It’s formulated with goat milk to condition brush bristles, while emollients such as Olive & Coconut Oils dissolve makeup and impurities to deep cleanse.

I had a large load of dirty brushes with different levels of grime including liquid foundation, powders, brow gels and lip tars to really put it to the test.I also included my dirty beautyblenders.

The directions said to moisten the brush head and swirl gently over the balm surface until the foam has lifted away visible impurities. I did this and immediately saw the grime coming out of the brush. This was liquid foundation and the brush had been used a few times without cleaning. The formula does not suds up due to the oils and pretty much emulsifies. After cleaning this brush, I rinsed it along with the cleanser and repeated. That did the job and removed everything.

Japonesque Solid Brush Cleaner Review

The Japonesque Solid Cleanser easily cleaned all of my brushes and the beautyblenders, but it used up more than half of the product. Another load like this and I’ll probably finish the jar. Maybe it should come in a bigger size?! Anyway, the brushes were really soft after they dried, even the ones that usually feel scratchy. The only thing that I don’t like is the scent. It’s pleasant enough but it’s strong and it lingers. I smell it every time that I do my makeup. Overall though it does what it says and does a great job at it.

  1. Hey E! From looking at the before and after it really goes a great job of cleaning your brushes but it sure doesn’t last long. I’ve used the solid blendercleanser. It’s supposed to be for cleaning beauty blenders but I use it on my brushes too. You may like it!
