The Winter 2014 Edition of The Ultimate Trunk Show was held this past Saturday at the Altman Building in Chelsea. I was excited to attend after having such a good time at the Spring event so I braved the rain and dragged Mo along with me. We arrived after 6pm and begin to make our rounds. I noticed immediately that the accessories were the star of the show this time around. A few brands really stood out to me especially Tnemnroda.
Adorment spelled backwards, Tnemnroda (nem-row-da) pieces are hand crafted in NYC by owner and creator Samantha Smikle. Consisting predominately of adorned glasses and shades, each piece is blinged out with an array of selections from 18kt gold plate to rhinestones and pearls. There is a variety of frame choices from aviators to cat eyes. The cat eyes were my favorite…
Mo and I had all kinds of fun trying on different pairs and taking pictures. It’s such a fun line and although it’s not pieces that I’d wear everyday I would definitely like a pair or two for them days when I’m feeling adventurous.
Another brand that stole the show was Studio 15. Founded by Jia Wertz, the boutique sells a selection of clothing and accessories and donates a portion of each sale to support women entrepreneurs in developing countries through a partnership with Kleos Microfinance.

I didn’t look at the clothing too much however the accessories were on point. The necklaces were fierce and so over the top and gaudy which is perfect for the holiday party season. There were lots of other accessories in the building and although not all are highlighted here they were still pretty dope.
Patron XO Cafe kept the drinks flowing, Milky Way was so soooo good. They also had some delicious mini whoopie pies, I just could not get enough and kept going back. The XO Cafe flavor was my favorite. Trust In Us Catering also served some chicken skewers which were pretty decent. There were complimentary massages from Finger Lakes School of Massage, a Men’s Lounge featuring haircuts by GROOMSmeN and Reddera, an agency for freelance beauty professionals that’s launching in NYC in January 2015 was providing mini manicures. This time around I was able to get my nails did and they did a great job.

We used Essie Bahama Mama as the base coat (it’s really a deep plum/burgundy). She used eyelash glue and foil sheets along with metal studs to create the design on the accent nail.
You can see more pictures from the event in the slideshow below. I can’t wait until the Spring 2015 event!
