I love to boast that I’m still in the prime of my youth. Of course I’m not the “Spring Chicken” that I once was but staying forever young has nothing to do with age, it’s a mindset, an attitude… better yet a lifestyle. I’ve teamed up with Olay for this post to share my forever young routines with you guys. Here are some of my secrets to staying forever young no matter how old I get.
I try to have fun and live life to the fullest
Although I must admit that this is not easy for me. I tend to be a worry rat, always stressing about everything that I need to get done, unaccomplished life goals and what I want but don’t have. I’ve been working hard at learning to enjoy the moment and appreciate my blessings. This relieves a load of stress and if you don’t know, stress ages you and not only takes a mental toll but a physical one as well. What’s meant for me is for me and it will come in due time but until then I’m going with the flow, having fun and enjoying life.
I take care of my body from the inside out
I’m more mindful of what I eat and 90% of the time I cook at home, limiting processed foods. I stay away from soda and stick with mainly water, tea and fresh fruit smoothies. I’m naturally a snacke. But I choose healthier options like homemade popcorn popped in coconut oil, and all natural gelato over ice cream. Going to the gym on the regular is a struggle for me but I try to work out when I can. I lead a pretty active lifestyle so that helps a lot. Personal grooming is always at the top of my priority list. I keep my hair and nails done, my makeup is always immaculate and I make sure that I am well put together. When I look good I feel good. I also make sure to take time for myself to recharge. Whether it be a candle lit bubble bath. A trip to the salon for a mani, pedi and/or massage. Or sleeping in for the day. This helps me to maintain my forever young attitude… along with my sanity (lol).
I take really good care of my skin
I’m obsessed when it comes down to skincare these days. I remove all of my makeup every single night and make sure to cleanse, moisturize and tone. I also deep clean and exfoliate when necessary. Gone are the days when I’d grab the cheapest face wash and moisturizer and call it a day. I now read and investigate ingredients to make sure that the product is right for my skincare needs and that there is nothing toxic or harmful included. I’ve accumulated a little skincare army that’s constantly gaining more soldiers.
My latest soldier is this Olay Regenerist Luminous Facial Oil. As an oily girl I shy away from moisturizing my face with oils as I figured it would do more harm than good. But boy was I wrong. Formulated with 9 luxurious natural oils including coconut, apricot kernel, grape seed extract, sunflower, evening primrose, sesame, jojoba, babassu and mimosa oils, this facial oil instantly hydrates to reveal luminous skin, smoothes texture and evens tone. It’s lightweight and sinks right in without leaving my skin a greasy mess. I’ve been under the weather the last few weeks and my skin has been dry, dull and washed out but you’d never know from looking at me. A few drops of the Olay Luminous Facial Oil applied before bed has been keeping my skin hydrated and radiant, helping to maintain my youthful appearance. I love it.
I hope that my little secrets can help you too!

I used to sleep on olay too but I started using their pro-X products recently. I also wonder if I’m living life enough. Will I get to be all I want to be? Go places? Not ungrateful for the life I have but I want more. Lord knows I yearn for more.
I totally get where you’re coming from and I have a similar attitude… but I’m learning that it’s okay to want more. We just have to learn to appreciate what we do have and enjoy life in the process of achieving our goals because tomorrow is not promised 🙂
Love your hair! Do you have any youtube tutorials on how to cut it?
I am 41. I am rigid when it comes to my skin care regimen. I swear by african black soap and shea butter. I also use other natural products such as halal mango butter soap and giovannis acai berry moisturizer. I am determined to fight aging and wrinkles.
