I’ve heard of Vincent Longo Cosmetics but until now I had never tried anything from the brand. Over the past few months I’ve managed to accumulate a nice selection of Vincent Longo products from gift bags and subscription boxes and after playing with them a bit I am ready to share my thoughts.
The products are housed in simple but sleek black packaging with a logo. The packaging is not flimsy and really protects the products, they may even survive a drop or two. Hopefully I won’t find out.
Dew Drop Radiant Blush in Temple Peach
‘Forever’ Trio Eyeshadow in Forever
Velvet Riche Lipstick in Dakota Red
Silk Velour Lipstick in Vanguard
Pro-Waterproof Eye Pencil in Ebony
The Dew Drop Radiant Blush ($30) combines multiple shades to add dimension to the face and a drop of pearl for a demi-matte finish with a light-enhancing glow. Temple Peach is too light for me to wear as a blush but it works very well to highlight my cheekbones when applied with a fan brush. It applies smoth and blends into the skin seamlessly. It also works well as an eyeshadow & brow highlighter. I love a multi-purpose product.
The Pearl-to-Matte ‘Forever’ Trio Eyeshadows ($30) include three special pressed textures- soft shimmer, demi-matte and matte making it easy to create an eyeshadow look. Forever includes a gold shimmer, taupe-demi matte and navy matte, and the shades work well together to create a smokey eye look. The shadows are quite sheer but can be layered for more coverage and does not have a lot of fallout. I highly suggest using a nude cream base to really make the colors pop.
Temple Peach, Forever Trio shades 1,2,3 & Ebony
The Pro-Waterproof Eye Pencil ($22) in Ebony is a deep black but it’s kind of dry and doesn’t apply very smooth. You have to really layer it to get good color payoff on the waterline. This would work best heated up with a lighter to help it to go on smoother and more pigmented. It is indeed waterproof though and once on it does not budge until removed with an oil based remover.
Velvet Riche Lipstick in Dakota Red (deep red creme), Silk Velour Lipstick in Vanguard (purple creme)
The Velvet Riche Lipstick ($23) provides creamy long lasting color and is infused with essential oils, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera to hydrate lips. The Silk Velour Lipstick ($23) is a gluten-free formula infused with Sweet Almond Oil, Vitamin E and Rose Hip. It’s super creamy and pigmented while providing medium to full coverage. The lipsticks are the star of the show. They are extremely pigmented, long-wearing and apply smooth and creamy. Both formulas feel great on the lips.
This is a look that I created using the products. I used the ‘Forever’ Trio to create a daytime smokey eye, the Pro-Waterproof Eye Pencil in Ebony on my waterline, Temple Peach to highlight my cheekbones and Vanguard on my lips. The products worked really well together to create this look and I can easily swap out Vanguard for Dakota Red. If I had to suggest only one product to try from Vincent Longo it would be the lipsticks. They are really good quality, long wearing and feels good on the lips. While the blush is nice, I would love to try another shade better suited for my complexion. The eyeshadow however is overpriced for the pigmentation, you can find better quality in the drugstore. This goes for the eye liner as well. Overall my first impression of Vincent Longo is positive and I will keep the brand on my radar.
