Essence Magazine kicked off New York Fashion Week with a huge Street Style Block Party under the Dumbo Archway. I headed out with my son and friends in tow and we had a blast. The event was hosted by Vanessa Simmons and featured a performance from Jasmine Sullivan, guest celebrity appearances including Tracey Ellis Ross, fashion shows, and a showcase of up and coming designers who each created custom art for the Chevy Cruze. There was also massages, makeovers and face painting provided by Sheamoisture along with vendors, food and a whole lot of fun.
Esean with the homie Ron Bass and the Chevy Cruz that he designed. It was dope.
Melody Ehsani‘s car was fly as well. I really loved the Egyptian theme.
Designers Coco & Breezy
Everyone was walking around with pineapple drinks from a vendor around the corner that looked deelish but the line was way too long so we didn’t get to try it 🙁
I ran into a few more friends and met up with my NYC Fashion Blogger girlies at the event. Overall it was a really good time, good ol’ wholesome family fun. I kept my outfit simple and comfortable…
