Lisa Lacquer is a new brand of nail polish by Lisa Wilson, a former NYC Beauty Editor. After seeing hundreds of beauty products cross her desk everyday Lisa grew bored with the same old colors, and as a mom on a budget she was not feeling the expensive price of current brands. Especially to have it chip the next day. When pregnant with her second child she still wanted to feel beautiful with a great manicure but didn’t trust the toxic free claim of the big brands. Wanting a toxic free polish in vibrant colors that could withstand chasing after two boys, Lisa created her own. Lisa Lacquer is vegan, 4 free/non toxic, cruelty free and made in the USA. Lisa sent me over Summer Fling to take for a test run.
Summer Fling from the Perfect Pastels collection is a pastel periwinkle purple with a faint silver sheen that helps it to stand out from all of the purples that I already have in my collection. That aside I still don’t have any exact dupes so the shade is unique enough. It’s a nice stand out color for Spring and Summer.
The formula is thick but not overly so and applies really smooth. You get a good amount of color with one coat but two coats are needed for full opacity. With a base and top coat I was able to get three full days of wear before I saw minor tip wear and chips. I was able to get five days of wear before needing a color change due to visible chipping. All polishes usually start to chip on me no later than day three so for me this was good wear. Toxic free, check. Vibrant color, check. Long wearing, check. Seems to me that Lisa got it right. This is a brand that I will be keeping on my radar with the vibrant colors and long wear, all in a toxic free formula. I can’t wait to try out a few more shades.
Lisa Lacquer currently has 12 shades available in two collections, The Perfect Pastels and Summer Love. Available at lisalacquer.com $7
