Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is celebrating their 10 year anniversary with the re-release of their very first product, the Tarred + Feathered Lip Balm Duo. Available for a limited time.
The Tarred & Feathered Color Correcting Lip Balm Duo is formulated with a moisturizing complex of jojoba seed oil, pomegranate seed oil, avocado oil, cocoa and shea butters and vitamin e to moisturize and condition the lips. The pure white and black balms are used to adjust the color of other shades in the OCC line up or your lip color of choice, Tarred (sheer black) is used to darken while Feathered (sheer white) is used to brighten. You apply the lip balm to bare lips and apply the color that you wish to adjust on top. You can also scoop out a tiny amount to mix with your lip color on a palette or the back of your hand before you apply. The little compact is too cute and reminds of those delicious black & white cookies!
Tarred, Feathered
The balm applies smooth and feels very moisturizing but not greasy. This duo is the perfect product for makeup artists to have in their kit. You don’t have to try and carry every shade under the sun, just some primary colors along with this duo and adjust to your hearts content. I have both Tarred and Feathered lip tars and this duo is so much easier to use as the lip tars can be messy and it’s easy to use too much. The Tarred + Feathered Lip Balm Duo will be available on May 27th is now available online at Sephora and in stores on June 6th $18
The OCC Dune Generation Stained Gloss Collection for Summer 2014 consists of 6 new shades of Stained Gloss Dune, Off World, Hedonist, Aurora, Concubine and Nomad. The Stained Glosses are highly pigmented with a translucent shiny “cellophane” finish, unlike the lip tars which have a matte finish. I received Hedonist and Nomad.
Hedonist, Nomad
Hedonist, creamy pastel pink gloss
Nomad, blackberry with gold shimmer metallic
Nomad is my fave out of the two as it’s absolutely gorgeous. Perfect for the Fall or a night time Summer look with lots of bronzer, eyeliner and mascara. Hedonist is a great shade for Spring since pastels are trending right now (and always for Spring in my opinion) but I’m not a huge fan of the shade on me, at least not straight out of the tube. I would need to adjust with a lipliner or something. The Dune Generation Stained Glosses are available now on at Sephora $18
