Who's the Yellow Powder Champion, Graftobian HD Luxe Cashmere Setting Powder in Banana Cream Pie or Ben Nye Banana Powder? Read on to find out.

For the last year I’ve been using Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Banana to set my under eye concealer and highlight the area, and I’ve been pretty pleased. I recently received a sample of Graftobian HD Luxe Cashmere Setting Powder in Banana Cream Pie and was excited to try it out and see how it performed compared to the Ben Nye .

Graftobian HD LuxeCashmere Setting Powder in Banana Cream Pie is a finely milled powder formulated to bring a soft focus to the complexion while blotting out shine.  Banana Cream Pie is made to offset redness and pink tones to give skin a warm golden glow and is perfect for setting under eye concealer and foundation for a flawless photo ready finish.

Banana Cream Pie is a pale yellow powder. It is extremely fine and silky and glides onto the skin smoothly. Let’s see how it compares to the infamous Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder.

Graftobian Banana Cream Pie, Ben Nye Banana (blended into skin)

The first think that I noticed is the the Graftobian Powder is slightly silkier than the Ben Nye, the Ben Nye looks a bit more chalky. However both blends seamlessly into the skin giving a subtle highlight.  I don’t get nearly enough sleep and my eyes are always dark with visible bags in the morning so I have to use multiple products to help me look more awake. Here I applied the Graftobian Banana Cream Pie to the under eye area after using a orange corrector and concealer…

Once my face was done, off the top I noticed that the Graftobian Banana Cream Pie appeared to blend into the skin better than the Ben Nye Banana Powder. Once I took my photos this was confirmed as my under eye area actually has a subtle highlight. The Ben Nye Banana Powder is more visibly noticeable and appears more yellow. Here I am wearing the Ben Nye Banana Powder…

As you can see the Graftobian Banana Cream Pie is less visible than the Ben Nye Banana Powder and photographs better in my opinion. I used about the same amount of both powders but I am wearing different foundations so I’ll do some more testing and comparing using the same foundation, however I used the same under eye products in both looks Kett Fixx Creme Corrector in CC Dark, L.A. Girl Pro HD Concealer in Toffee and the Banana Powders to set. Both wears well all day with minimal creasing as long as you don’t over apply your concealer.

I would suggest the Graftobian HD LuxeCashmere Banana Cream Pie Setting Powder for everyday wear and for beginners who are just getting started with banana powder since it’s more subtle. For more of a stand out highlight and those that are used to working with banana powder I suggest the Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder. For those that use a banana powder everyday and would like to get a different look for different occasions I would suggest both but if I had to choose one it would be the Graftobian. If you’re on a budget grab the Ben Nye as it’s cheaper for more product. I know that I probably just confused you but hey, I’m trying to address all possible scenarios lol.

  1. You look great with both but I like the subtle highlighting effects of the Graftibian. The banana powder is too drying under my eyes so I rarely use it. My current fave is the Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder. It is invisible and long lasting.

    1. Thank you. You are so right, the banana powder can be very drying and if you don’t moisturize well it makes you look old. I haven’t tried the MUFE one but I have the elf and I rarely use it, I need to try it more.

  2. Wow! Both of these are nice but I agree the Ben Nye looks more yellow when blended. Will definitely try to get a sample of each to test for myself. Also, what lipstick are you wearing in the last pic? It looks amazing on you!!

    1. Thank you. Here you go…
Milani Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencil in Cafe Au Lait all over lid as a base
MAC Eyeshadow in Soft Brown all over lid
MAC Eyeshadow in Embark on outer v and crease
Milani Brow & Eye Highlighter in Natural Taupe to highlight brow bone

  3. I thought you were using L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Chestnut, why did you change to Toffee? I ask because I recently bought the L.A. Girl Concealer in Chestnut after searching for a dup for MACs NW45 and found your blog.

      1. Thank you! I haven’t read all your articles yet, but I really like your blog. We have the very same coloring and I really hate the miss portion of hit & miss make up experiments so it is great for me to see the colors and brands you use to see how they might look on me.
