My lips have been suffering like h e double hockey sticks this Winter. Between the Polar Vortex, all of these new lip products that I’ve been testing for the blog and my love of matte lipsticks my lips have been dry, cracked and peeling. I have to exfoliate almost daily and the effects doesn’t last long as all of my current lip balm faves were no longer doing the trick.
The other week at a fashion show during NYC Fashion Week my neighbor who I had been chatting with throughout the show pulled out this little gem and asked me had I tried it. She began to rave over it and I thought hell I’ll try anything at this point. When I went to Sephora and saw the price, $26 for a tube the size of ointment, I rolled my eyes… sucked my teeth and walked away. But then I thought with all of the lip products I’ve been wasting money on $6 here and $8 here I could have bought the lip balm twice over so I went back to get it and I am so glad that I did. It has been a savior for my poor lips!
The Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask is a soothing leave-on lip mask that replinishes moisture with all natural ingredients. The main ingredient is medical grade lanolin which is known to heal cracked and sore skin. It also contains Organic Blue Agave Nectar, Jojoba Oil and Vanilla CO2 Extract, Resveratrol which has the antioxidant benefits of 15 glasses of red wine, Beeswax and and a host of other natural oils to nourish lips. It does not contain Gluten, Petroleum or Parabens.
The Lip Mask has the consistency of a thick honey and a tiny bit goes a long way. It glides on thick but melts right into the lips. When applied at night after exfoliating I wake up with really soft, plush lips. When applied under my matte lipsticks they glide on smooth and my lips stay moist all day without cracking or peeling. When worn alone it gives the lips a high gloss shine while keeping them hydrated.
After a few days my lips were healed completely and have been staying that way with consistent use. I’ve even been letting my little man use it since it’s all natural and his lips has healed up completely as well. The only thing is when the product gets cold (i.e. left in the car or in your purse during frigid temperatures) it gets hard and it is extremely difficult to get out of the tube. I’ve seen people complain about their tube splitting at the corners when trying to roll it. I keep it in my makeup bag inside my purse and find that after being indoors for about 20 minutes it’s easier to get out. I also squeeze from the top gently to avoid cracking the tube. This works even when the product is still hard.
*Update* 10/29/15 It now comes in a heavy plastic tube.
This is a beauty product that I will continue to splurge on as long as it continues to work because I’ve never used anything better on my lips. It’s a must have! Available in Sephora stores or online $26 (.52 oz)

You’re welcome. It’s definitely worth the splurge!
oh wow this product seems great. You can never go wrong with a good lip product. It goes a long way especially in the cold weather. Nice post! Jonesy http://www.the-blisslist.com
Thank you!
I tried this product and let me tell you…it’s sent from God. This winter plus my recent obsession for matte lips caused extreme havoc. After one day of use I saw great improvement with Bite lip mask. I will forever pay $26 plus tax for this unless I can find something better. I think this is as good as it’s going to get though.
I totally agree!
I had the same issues with my cracked, dry lips for bout 8 months now. My lips turn a turn for horrible out of nowhere. My usual Jack Black and Estee Lauder 8 hour crème couldn’t cut it anymore. I tried all kinds of cheap and expensive treatments including the TOTALLY expensive Hourglass Lip oil that was $42 and the Chanel Creme’ de Rose Smoothing Lip Balm that was $27. it hurt my feeling to pay so much for these products but I was desperate. They both worked for a while but lips came back fighting. I finally purchased Dr. Dan’s Cortibalm lip balm after using a sample the healed my splitting lips overnight! Yes, overnight I say! You can order this, as it is not stocked in stores, from the pharmacy at any drugstore, but I have bought mine off Ebay and Amazon. A tube is about $5 but I have purchased 3 at a time for $12. I have been using this for the last 5 months and while My lips still have some issues I can wearing lipstick daily where before I could not. Be for warned though, you can not just slather this on, although is it very moisturizing, because it tastes horrible. Girl, research this miracle!!!!
Thank you so much for the suggestion. Will look it up!
Loving your blog! I just discovered it & I can’t stop reading. I’m currently using this Bite Agave & yes my sides Are cracked an @ $26 the packaging needs to improve Besides the cracked sides getting the product out is a hassle all the negatives aside as a daily lipstick user this mask @ the end of the day after removing my makeup provides the deeply hydrating moisture that scrubbing/exfoliating my lips desperately needs. Unfortunately for me this is the only lip product that has done this & it’s great as an exfoliation balm, I hope Bite re do the packaging.
Thank you! I feel your pain, mine has not cracked but the packaging looks totally beat up now. I keep it in my makeup bag in my purse so it stays soft and easy to get out. Hope that helps.
