I see that Milani wants to make sure that our lips are poppin’ all Spring long with all of these new lip goodies. The Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stain combines the high shine of a lipgloss, pigmentation of a lipstick and the wear of a stain. The best of all worlds. It comes in 8 shades Red Control, Cabaret Blend, Raspberry Tart, Pink Lemonade, Macaroon, Strawberry Sugar, Mango Tango and Cream Cafe. I was sent over four of the shades for review.

The Milani Power Lip Gloss Stains comes in a click pen with a brush applicator. On initial use you have to click the pen about 10-15 times before product is dispersed and way too much comes out. After that though one click will give you enough for light application and two clicks enough for full coverage. Once you get the hang of using the brush it applies the gloss pretty well. The only one I had trouble with was Creamy Cafe which applied streaky.

Mango Tango, Cabaret Blend, Raspberry Tart, Cream Cafe

Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stain Mango Tango Dark Skin

Mango Tango, Coral Cream. OMG I am so in love with this one, it’s perfect for Summer and screams the beach!

Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stain Cabaret Blend Dark Skin

Cabaret Blend, Berry Cream. This one is perfect for Fall and Winter, and will take you right into Spring.

Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stain Raspberry Tart Dark Skin

Raspberry Tart, Mauve Berry Cream. Perfect work appropriate pink.

Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stain Cream Cafe Dark Skin

Creamy Cafe, Brown Rose Cream. This is the perfect pink toned nude, however it applies so streaky and just looks patchy. My least favorite.

The Gloss Stains go on smooth with the exception of Creamy Cafe, and can be applied sheer or layered for full opacity. Initially they look like an extremely pigmented gloss on the lips and after a while dries down to the look of  a satin lipstick before it wears off into a stain. I was able to get about 8 hours of wear before it started wearing off to a stain, and the stain stayed put until I removed my makeup. It won’t come off with plain water but I had no problem removing it with my MAC Cleanse Off Oil so I suggest an oil based remover. They did not dry out my lips like most lip stains but I did not find them to be very moisturizing either. I would still use a little moisturizing balm underneath or at least give your lips a light scrub before wearing these.

Retailers have already started rolling out the new products but if you haven’t spotted them yet they should be available for February. In the meantime you can purchase these at $6.49
