Another Year, Another Start, A NYE Smokey Eye Look

I wore a smokey eye look accentuated with glitter for NYE. Along with a nude lip to go along with my simple, yet still sexy, not so little black dress.

NYE Smokey Eye Look

Happy New Year guys! I wish you all the best in this new year and hope that it is filled with many blessings, joy and happiness. 2013 had it’s ups and downs for me but I am truly grateful to be alive to see another year, and to get another fresh start. This was my very first time going out to celebrate as I usually just bring in the new year with a party at my place or celebrating with my family. My boyfriend and I along with a few other friends attended a private surprise birthday party very close to the festivities in Times Square. We had an amazing time and I am really glad that we went out and tried something different. I decided on a smokey eye look accentuated with glitter and a nude lip to go along with my simple, yet still sexy not so little black dress. I was feeling very Audrey Hepburn-ish, couldn’t tell me nothing lol.

  1. Love it! I am always afraid the smokey eye will make me look like a raccoon. But yours is so nice. It doesn’t look heavy/caked on. More playing for me. Thanks for sharing!

    1. You’re welcome and thank you. I know what you mean because I definitely had the raccoon look on my first few attempts at a smokey eye. Took a lot of practice and I’m still working on it. Number one tip blend, blend, blend! Lol

    1. Thank you, Sherry. The next thing I would like to experience is celebrating the holidays away from home… maybe in Vegas or overseas!

  2. Gorgeous, my twin lol πŸ˜‰ Happy New year!! Sidenote: got my MAC ‘Heroine’ yesterday..i would never have picked that color ..but I saw you feature it on your blog and knew it’d work for me..keep up the great work!! #chocolategirlzrock

    1. Thank you, Joanne. I had to really convince myself to wear them since it was freezing in NYC but they looked best with the dress. A few blocks from the car wasn’t so bad though. The things we do to be cute! Lol

  3. You look great Erica! Happy New Year to you from the bloggers at Ixora-Hairouna. Check us out! We even used a pic of you in our ‘crop top’ post (of course we credited your site). Cheers!
