MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is my second love from MAC right behind the Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. At one point I didn’t wear anything else on my face except for this with a bit of concealer to cover spots for like a year. I’ve since gone through numerous foundations but always come back to my MSFN to pay a visit. I love the gorgeous glow that it gives my skin in the Summer and like to use it throughout the Fall and Winter to mimic that glow.
Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is a domed baked mineral face powder that provides low coverage with a multidimensional, semi-matte finish that looks very natural. It can be used to set your foundation or for touch ups during the day, or alone to even out skintone and give the skin a natural glow. Although the coverage is buildable it will not cover spots well so you will need to use concealer or a tinted moisturizer on spots first. Also if you’re oily you may need to blot during the day as it does not control oil. Wearing an oil control primer underneath helps a lot. My shade is Deep Dark but my compact is a few years old so I believe it’s now the equivalent of Dark Deep.
It matches my complexion perfectly and enhances it to give a glowing from within look. On the weekends I’ll buff a little into my skin with a flat top powder brush to even out my skintone and get rid of dullness. If wearing MSFN to work, I cover any spots with concealer and put on a light layer of tinted moisturizer or bb cream and then set it with the Mineralize Skinfinish. A little goes a very long way. Here I am wearing it over my Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream…
It makes my skin look even and sun kissed, yet it is still natural looking.
Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is one of the most popular items from MAC amongst makeup enthusiasts and artists alike and for good reason as it’s awesome. It’s perfect for those who like a natural look and don’t want to look as if they are wearing makeup. I will always keep a compact in my collection. It retails for $30 and can be purchased at your local MAC store, counter or at maccosmetics.com.

Beautiful! I too always make my way back to MSFN. I love how it evens out my skin and gives such a natural finish. I cant find a drugstore dupe for it so I’ll continue to shell out the bucks for this!
Great post, enjoy your weekend!!!
Thank you so much. I haven’t found anything else like it either so I’ll continue to indulge. A pan lasts me forever though lol.
You have a great wknd as well! 🙂
I only wear LA Color Pro Concealer and my MAC MSFN. It gives my face a natural looking glow without looking too made up. Great post! You rep for us NW45 gals. Literally everything I”ve bought because you put it on your blog works for me.
I am so glad that I can help out. I always try to share my faves in hope that it will help out my fellow brown beauties.
By the way, I’ve been looking for that concealer forever and it’s always sold out online! Lol
Hi Erica, you look beautiful! I love your blog. It’s your fault that I’m now a makeup junkie! 🙂
Thank you Pari. I tend to have that effect in people lol 🙂
Stunning! I haven’t used this powder in ages. I might need to bring it back. 🙂
Thank you. No matter how much you forget, you’ll most likely always come back to this one 🙂
Love love love this powder, its the only one i use! Definitely gives that natural glowing look. This reminds me I have to get another one! lol Loving the red lip look!
Thank you!
Hey Erica,
How do you know what lipstick works for you? I am not much of a lipstick girl, but I’m trying to get into it. However, I have full lip and feel like nothing works for me. PLEASE HELP!!!
I’ll usually try any lip color and if it doesn’t work alone I’ll combine it with a lip pencil or gloss to alter it before I completely toss it aside. It’s all about trial and error and knowing what you like.
I love to use my MAC MSF Natural for quick coverage! I really want to try a darker shade (not sure exactly which one yet) to use as a contour.
Pretty!! Thanks girly I will have to try this one!
Thank you and no problem! 🙂
I’ve been hesitant to try this out, only because it would be an investment for me. But I love bronzers/powders like this. So I you have influenced me to go purchase it 🙂 hopefully someone there will help me out lol
Lol you should be fine
Hi, what shade would you recommend for an NC45 skin tone? Would deep dark be too dark or just right? Thank you!
I’m thinking Dark or Medium Deep if you’re on the lighter spectrum of NC45
I’m on the darker end of nc45 (sometimes mix or wear nw43 altogether) and wear Medium Deep but not a big difference in the ‘Dark’ either really.
Does this have numbers like NC and nw because I saw some online which says a mac mineralize ski finish natural Nw45,50,55….and so on,I’m confused cus I know it’s in dark and dark deep
Hi Sandra. To my knowledge these do not come in numbers, only shades such as dark etc. Hope that helps!
