I did makeup for a wedding party this weekend and the bride was amazing, so laid back and easy to work with. She explained that she wanted a very natural look as she doesn’t usually wear much makeup, however she did want some bling and asked if I had rhinestones. I told her nope, no rhinestones but I do have glitter… and she said yes glitter, lot’s of glitter… every time I blink all I want everyone to see is glitter. In my head I’m thinking oh yes I got this and gave her exactly what she wanted. Take a look behind the scenes. The bride’s finished look…
I gave the bride a light glitter cut crease using Lit Cosmetics Glitter in Cher applied with Lit’s Clearly Liquid Glitter Base over Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 HR Eyeshadow in Tough As Taupe all over the lid. I used MAC Soft Brown Eyeshadow on the crease and Shroom to highlight the brow bone. I finished off the eyes with black creme eyeliner on the upper lash line to create a winged eye, Jordana 12HR Made To Last Eyeliner Pencil in Charcoal Definition on the waterline and Ardell Demi Wispies Lashes.
I moisturized her face with Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate and primed with L’oreal Magic Perfecting Base Primer. I used a combination of my Temptu Concealer Wheel and Graftobian HD Glamour Creme Correcter Palette to conceal under her eyes and Black Opal Even True Flawless Skin Liquid Makeup in Heavenly Honey buffed into the skin to create an airbrushed finish. I set under the eyes with Ben Nye Banana Powder and the entire face with Ben Nye Neutral Set.
I applied La Femme Blush in Amber (I believe) on her cheeks. She wanted a bronze glow so I used the highlighter in my Sleek Face Form Kit to highlight her cheekbones and the bronzer on her t-zone, chin and wherever the sun hits. I set everything with Model in a Bottle Setting Spray for Sensitive Skin.
I lined the Lips with Milani Color Statement Lip Pencil in All Natural. She chose her lipstick in advance, I believe it was MAC Pro Longwear Lip Creme in Overtime.
The bride was extremely happy with the finished look and she looked gorgeous. Reminds me of Sanaa Lathan.
The bride’s sister and Matron of Honor knew exactly what she wanted and had most of the colors and products that she wanted to use in her own collection, including a custom blend foundation. She wanted smokey green eyes with hints of gold and blue or purple eyeliner to bring out the colors in her dress. I do know that she had two different Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palettes and a 24/7 Glide On Pencil, Benefit lashes, possibly Prescriptives Foundation and a Cargo Blush & Bronzer (?) She filled in her own brows using her Anastasia Brow Genius Kit as she knew exactly how she wanted them. I am not sure what’s on her lips.
I used Urban Decay Eyshadow in Half Baked from my Naked Palette on the inner corner of the lid and Black Out to smoke out the outer corner and crease. I blended with MAC Soft Brown Eyeshadow. I used black creme eyeliner to give her a winged eye and on the waterline I used Jordana 12HR Made To Last Eyeshadow Pencil in Aqua Last, inner corner is topped with her Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eyeliner Pencil in possibly Covet (?)
I moisturized her skin with the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate and primed with L’oreal Magic Perfecting Base Primer. I concealed under her eyes with my Temptu Concealer Wheel and used a foundation from my RCMA Kho Palette to cover the dark spots on her jawline and chin. I then topped it with her custom blend foundation and buffed it in with a flat top brush to create a natural finish. I set under the eye with Ben Nye Banana Powder and the entire face with Ben Nye Neutral Set. I then set everything with Model in a Bottle Setting Spray for Sensitive Skin. She loved, loved, loved her finished look. I also did the makeup for the Mother of the Bride but unfortunately wasn’t able to get pics since it was so hectic. Hopefully I can snag some later. I really enjoyed working with this group and everyone was happy with their looks.

I am in love with this look myself and gained so much inspiration for my own day when the time comes 🙂
Gorgeous work! I noticed that you mentioned Embryolisse creme. Is it really good? I’ve always wanted to try it, but it’s hard to find.
Thank you so much. It’s really good, especially for dry patchy skin and soothing redness.
Erica, Erica, Erica – all I can say is you knocked it out of the park and I’m forever grateful to you for taking care of my family on one of the most memorable days our lives! The makeup was FLAWLESS + she was floating the entire night! The day was extremely hectic but you were a consummate professional + I look forward to working with you again, again and again 🙂 We all THANK YOU and as you know, I already have you booked for another wedding this September! Epically Yours – Kenya
You are truly welcome Kenya and it was a pleasure working with you and your family. I thank you so much for thinking of me and booking me for this job. It was very refreshing to work with a bride that stepped out of the “safe” zone and wanted a more glamorous look. It really allowed me to let my creative juices flow while still giving her exactly what she wanted.
Keep me posted for the wedding in September and for any other events I’m just a call or a click away. Thanks again 🙂
GORGE!!! I love the brides natural yet glamorous look! Great job cuzzo!
Thanks cuz! 😀
Beautiful work Miss Erica!! the bride is perfectly glowing yet not overly made up. Her sister is equally flawless. I’m super impressed by your application skills. You are obviously a professional to be reckoned with. Continued success.
Peace and Blessings,
Shani
Thank you so much Shani!
Very pretty! I like both looks.
Thank you!
Wow I love it! I can’t wait till you do my make up
Thank you. Just let me know when! 🙂
Amazing work!
Your work is beautiful. Can you recommend some natural lipsticks? I am having trouble finding a natural look for my chocolate skin. I love color and I wear all types of color lipsticks and lipglosses already. Your advice is appreciated.
Thank you so much. Some of my favorite nude lipsticks are MAC Freckletone and Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Teddy Bare. I don’t own too many natural hued lipsticks as once I find colors that work for me I tend to buy them over and over since I don’t wear nude lips as often. I’m more of a bright color girl, at least at this moment. Hope that helps 🙂
Thanks so much. i will try those. I love color, too. Trying to get into the nude look.
You’re very welcome!
