Ricky’s NYC has a new line of makeup brushes, Ricky’s Paintbrush which was created by Ricky’s founder Ricky Kenig. The line is made of the “best of” essential brushes to help you to create any makeup look. There are 21 brushes in total with a color code and numbering system to help you choose the right brushes for the look that you are going for.
Here is a closer look at some of the brushes…
17 Eyeshadow Crease Brush $10
19 Large Fluff Eyeshadow Brush $10
21 Filbert Eyeshadow Brush $8
32 Fan Foundation Brush $14
35 Large Duo-Fibre Brush $14
36 Large Powder Brush $16
37 Round Powder Brush $24
The brushes appear to be well made and pretty sturdy, and I must admit that they are super cute. But the only ones out of this set to really catch my attention was the Eyeshadow Crease Brush which has dense but not too firm bristles which would work well for blending the crease and the Duo-Fibre Foundation Brush which seems like it would be great for creating an airbrushed look. Some of the others were too soft, too large or too overpriced.

Great post. A wonderful makeup artist/ and youtuber “enkoremakeup”, did a YT video, back in 2007 about using paintbrushes as cheaper dupe over expensive makeup brushes.
After that I rarely brought MAC or other expensive makeup brushes again. The quality and durability of paintbrushes is so much better, IMO. The cost and versatility are also unrivaled.

Thanks for the info, I’ve heard this too. Last time I visited my mom I was checking out the paintbrushes in Walmart but all of the sizes that can be used for makeup were gone. Everyone must know the secret lol. I’m going to have to check out Michaels.
