Dermalogica Skinperfect Primer is a makeup primer, sunscreen and anti-aging skin treatment in one. It’s supposed to smooth away fine lines and brighten and prep skin for flawless makeup application. The formula combines silicones with Soy Protein to even out skin texture and natural minerals to provide a neutral tint to the skin tone to enhance luminosity and radiance. Here is where the problem lies, the “tint’ is not neutral at all.
When applied and blended out, the primer leaves a whitish cast on darker skin. When you apply your foundation on top it gives the appearance of being ashy. No matter how small of an amount applied the results are still the same. I took it for a test run around the house and outdoors briefly (omg what was I thinking) and it did keep my makeup in place and my oily t-zone in check. So if you are really pale this may work for you but my brown-skinned beauties leave it alone as it is not for us! On another note, $48 is way too much for a primer anyway when my fave (Black Radiance Complexion Perfection Shine Control Primer) is about 5 bucks. Hmph.
