Layla Ceramic Effect CE 45 Coral Bay

Layla Cosmetics is an Italian brand based in Milano that I was introduced to at The Makeup Show NYC. I was intrigued by their assortment of nail polish shades and finishes and even got an application demo from the rep. I was immediately sold once I saw how nice they applied and the ultra rich pigmentation. I was given a shade to try from the Ceramic Effect line, Coral Bay(CE 45). The Ceramic Effect line is single action and does not require the use of a base or top coat while still leaving the nails with a shiny and smooth finish. This is right up my alley because I am notorious for doing my nails out the door… or in the train station… or… you get my drift! lol

Coral Bay is a bright coral toned red that is an awesome color for Spring and Summer. It’s so fun yet still work appropriate. The formula applied smooth and not too thin, and it had great pigmentation with just one coat. I applied two coats with no base coat or top coat as directed and was blown away by the finish. It looks just like ceramic plates! My nails are shiny and glossy as if I applied a top coat. The formula dried very fast. I went to bed within 10 minutes of polishing my nails and woke up with no smudging. So far it’s wearing well and I have no chips or tip wear. It’s only been one day but I am notorious for chipping my nails within hours.

Layla Cosmetics polish can be found in store at Ulta and is available online at www.zappos.com . It retails at $9.95 a bottle. I am really impressed with this brand and can’t wait to try more of their products.

  1. This is pretty! I’m a nail polish junkie…I’m ashamed to admit how many bottles I have…but, I’ve never tried Layla. No base or top coat?! Sign me up!
