OCC will be launching a new line of Lip Tars, the Lip Tar Stained Gloss. Lip Tar Stained Gloss is a new texture option from the Lip Tar Range that combines the super pigmentation of the original lip tars with a glossy finish that’s more freindly for everyday wear. You can wear it alone or layer it over your favorite lip products including the original OCC Lip Tars. OCC gave a sneak peek of the Lip Tars at TMS NYC this weekend but they are officially launching on May 23rd and won’t be available until then. I received the shade New Wave in my bag from TMS Blogger Preview.
New Wave is a bright pink that looks very scary in the tube but is much more muted when applied. It has light glossy texture and is very pigmented but not as pigmented as the original lip tars. A small amount still goes a long way. It is also MUCH easier to apply than the original lip tars. I lightly lined my lips with my Milani Color Statement Lip Liner in Fuchsia which matches New Wave very well and simply applied it with my fingers, dabbing it on in layers until I achieved the coverage that I wanted.
You can see more photos of me wearing New Wave here.
I really like the new OCC Lip Tar Stained Gloss. It wears for hours and leaves a light stain on the lips when it wears off. I feel that this is a much better option for the everyday makeup enthusiast since it is so much easier to apply. A lot of MUA’s (including myself) like the original lip tars for their extreme pigmentation in a small amount but sometimes they can be difficult to apply. It’s best with a brush.
The new OCC Lip Tars Stained Gloss comes in six shades and will be available on May 23rd at www.occmakeup.com . If you are in NYC, look for it at 174 Ludlow St.
