Nicka K Amethyst & Lavender Tint Lipsticks Review

Nicka K Lipsticks have been around for years. You're almost sure to find them in any BSS, especially in NYC. Did I mention they're 99 cents? Um yeah.

Nicka K Lipsticks have been around for years. If you walk in any beauty supply store, especially in NYC, you are almost sure to find the brand. Since they are only 99 cent, the cheap price may cause you to walk right past them as it seems too good to be true but no, no, no you must try these out as they are awesome. They used to make a shade that was the color of Cotton Candy Nail Polish (remember this was the It color? OMG I’m showing my age lol.) I can’t remember the name but it was my lipstick of choice in high school blended with my black lip liner. Those were the days lol. Anyway, I totally moved on from the brand and forgot about it until the brand’s lipstick in Amethyst was dubbed the best MAC Yung Rapunxel dupe and I picked it up. Amethyst was my go to lipstick this past Winter and I promised myself that I would try more shades. While browsing the aisles of the bss a few days ago I landed in front of the Nicka K display and spotted the lipstick in Lavender Tint. There was one tube left and it looked perfect for Spring so I had to snatch it up.

The lipsticks are easily spotted in their silver and clear tube. It has NK lipstick with vitamin E written on the side and the shade number and name on a sticker at the bottom of the tube. The tube is pretty cheaply made and you may even get a shotty one as my Lavender Tint came in a jacked up tube, hence the tip being smashed in. For 99 cent I’m not complaining though. The lipsticks are very creamy and pigmented. Formulated with Vitamin E, they are very moisturizing and won’t dry out your lips. The color lasts for about 3-5 hours before you need to touch it up and you will definitely need to reapply after a meal.

"Nicka K Lipstick Amethyst"

Amethyst (creme) is a deep eggplant purple with red undertones. It is an exact dupe for MAC’s Limited Edition Yung Rapunxel. It has a yummy sweet nectar scent but I didn’t detect any taste. The shade is perfect for those Fall and Winter Vamp Looks. You can see me wearing Amethyst here.

"Nicka K Lipstick Lavender Tint"

Lavender Tint (semi-matte) is a bright pink with lavender undertone. It has a very perfume like/soapy scent and thank goodness it doesn’t have a taste as well. The scent does wear off though after a few minutes. It is perfect for the Spring and I know I will be wearing this a lot. Look out for a FOTD featuring this shade really soon You can see me wearing Lavender Tint here.

Nicka K Lipsticks are unbelievably awesome at the steal price of 99 cent. Next time you run across them grab a few and try it out, you won’t be disappointed. I know I will be grabbing a few more shades. If you can’t find them in your bss you can grab them online for $1.49 a piece at www.nicka.com
