If you follow my Facebook page then you would know that I’ve been hunting down this foundation FOREVER. No, like really forever… since it first came out a few months ago. I found the CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation a few weeks ago and couldn’t wait to find it’s sister, All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation from the Queen Collection to compare. Now that I’ve gotten all of that out let me tell you guys all about it!

CoverGirl Queen All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation fuses concealer, foundation and powder into a single application for all-day, flawless coverage.  Specially designed for darker skin tones, the formula is almost exactly the same as the Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation except that a few of the last ingredients are in different orders (meaning different amounts.) The foundation appears to come in 14 different shades ranging from very light to dark with red, yellow and neutral undertones. It has an SPF of 20 and contains ensulizole sunscreen which is a water soluble UVB protecting agent which also protects the skin from UVA rays but not as well unless used along with another agent such as Titanium Dioxide, which this foundation also has. As with all foundations that contain sunscreen you have to be careful when using flash photography as it sometimes gives the skin a grey cast. The foundation is housed in a glass container with a lockable pump and cap.

I had a very hard time choosing a shade as the deep shades looked so similar in the bottle. Using Soft Sable from the Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation as a guide, I chose Q850 Sheer Espresso as it looked closest in the bottle. It blends in with my complexion very well. If you look at the last picture above, the foundation is blended to the right of the swatch and you can barely see it. I would say that Sheer Espresso is neutral with a very slight yellow undertone. For reference I am usually NW45 in MAC, Trinidad in NARS and Cappuccino in Revlon ColorStay (which is sometimes a little too dark.) Sheer Espresso and Soft Sable are almost an exact match except Sheer Espresso leans a tiny bit yellow. It neutralizes as it oxidizes though…

Left to Right: Outlast Stay Fabulous Soft Sable,  All Day Flawless Sheer Espresso

Back to All Day Flawless, the foundation is very light, a little lighter than the Stay Fabulous and you need a little more for full coverage. It blends into the skin well and dries down to a matte finish. I pump it onto a metal palette and buff it into my face using a flat top brush like the Sigma F80 or Bdellium Tools 957. You may also use a stippling brush, a sponge or simply your fingers. Here is how the foundation looks on…

It is matte but not as matte as the Outlast Stay Fabulous. This is better for those with really dry skin. It does not dry down as fast either giving you more time to blend. The first time that I wore it I didn’t use a primer but I did use a little bit of Ben Nye Neutral Set. If you are oily I highly recommend that you use a primer as the oil in your t-zone may begin to seep through. Even when used with a primer I have to blot my nose a little mid-day as I can see slight drops of oil making their way through. Here is how it looks 12 hours later…

Don’t mind my untouched lipstick and too yellow under eye concealer (another product I’m testing, review coming soon.) As you can see the foundation stayed in place pretty good but just started to fade a little and my nose is a little shiny and in need of some blotting. Overall I am very impressed as the foundation matches my complexion well and doesn’t have me looking like an oompa loompa lol. All day flawless is perfect for everyday wear and will definitely get through the work day. I’ve only been using it for a few days and haven’t experienced any breakouts or such, if I do I will update this post.

Covergirl Queen All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation retails between $9.49 and $14.99, Unfortunately I payed a steep $13.49 for it at Duane Reade but sucked it up since I was so happy to find it. The price differences are quite ridiculous and here in NYC we are on the high end of the spectrum. You can also check Target, Ulta, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart or a drugstore near you that carries the brand. It is also available on drugstore.com and is currently on sale for about $7.48 😉

The product(s) in this post was purchased with my own money.  See my Disclosure page for additional information.

  1. This looks gorgeous on you! I think I may have finally found this at a Walmart in my area. I plan to try it out. I mean the finish is just flawless!

  2. I tried both the light skin and dark skin. Unless I use a primer this melted off my face. lol Great coverage and they do last a long time and the plus is that they have shades for just about everyone.

  3. I have spent the last few days researching Revlon Colorstay for oil/combination skin in 400 caramel and was pretty much ready to purchase it until I stumble on to this foundation. Now I find myself wanting to get one because my current foundation is the CG Queen Natural Hue in Q725 and it matches great, undertone and all so Im confident I would find a match in this formula. Also I read that the undertones in the Revlon Colorstay are more red and it tends to oxidize and looks darker, my undertone is yellow. So which would you recommend and which did you prefer?

    1. This foundation has a great selection of shades with yellow undertones but the shade I selected is a little too yellow on me so I prefer the Outlast 3-in-1. I love Revlon Colorstay but it does oxidize and gets darker along with turning orange/red

  4. You are right the regular 3 in 1 matches you better than this one…..Im plenty yellow when it comes to undertone so I will get a shade from the queen collection. Thanks you have been very helpful
