If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook, then you will notice that I am sporting a new do for Spring. I decided to give my Pixie Cut a break for a while and opted for a Meagan Good Inspired Haircut. This is such an easy style to pull off. If you have a Pixie Cut it is very easy to transform your hair into this style. All you need to do is add a few tracks. Here is a pictorial.

Get your hair ready. You don’t need expensive hair as you will be chopping it up and you don’t need a lot as you will be only adding a few tracks. I opted for Permed Yaky and picked up a half of pack. The texture of this hair is perfect to blend in with my coarse, relaxed hair. I sewed in my tracks as I don’t care for glue but you can use glue if that works better for you.

Add your side part to your Pixie Style on your side of choice.

Leaving out your edges and some hair next to the part, create a slight moon part to the middle of your ear (further if you’d like). Braid your hair, and sew the ends down to the braid. You want to make it as flat as possible. If you are using glue skip to the next step.

Measure your weft (tracks) to the length of your braid and then sew it to the braid. If you are using glue just glue in the track on your part as close to the roots as possible.

Leave some hair out to cover your track and then create the next braid.

Sew in your next track. You will repeat this process until you get to the crown of your head. I used four tracks.

You should leave enough hair out in the crown and near the part to cover the tracks completely.

You should now have a swoop bang similar to this.

Now you will use a razor comb to cut and style the hair. Making sure your own hair is out of the way so that you don’t accidentally cut it. Cut the tracks to a slant while slightly layering, and blend it with the length of your own hair. You can leave it longer if you wish. It should look something like this…

To style, curl the back and short side in layers using a flat iron or curling iron. To curl the long side, take small sections of hair and curl back and to an angle.

Finish off the look by applying a polishing gloss to blend your hair with the tracks and a light holdng spray to keep it in place. You can wear it like this or comb the shorter side back as I have been doing. If you comb the side back apply a little edge control gel to lay your edges down. To maintain your Meagan Good Inspired Haircut, simply pin curl the longer side and tie up hair at night, and let the curls out in the morning. Tease in place with your fingers.
