Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer is the most talked about one, the big kahuna of them all. Up until now I hadn’t tried it and I can’t believe I’ve gone so long without doing so because it’s amazing!
A sheer, lightweight and buildable foundation with broad spectrum SPF 20 UVA/UVB protection. It comes in twelve or thirteen shades and three different formulations- original, illuminating and oil free. I chose oil free since I have oily/combination skin and it is geared toward those with acne prone, sensitive and oily skin. I opted for Mocha which is the darkest shade for deep complexions with a balance of red and yellow undertones. In other words, neutral.
It comes in a squeeze tube which is perfect since it’s more sanitary. I don’t feel that it’s necessary to moisturize your face first unless you have dry skin, in which you are probably using the wrong formula. You just squeeze about a dime sized amount on the back of your hand or a palette and apply with your fingers or brush of your choice. I find it best to apply with your fingers. Mocha blends into my skin extremely well. A thin layer covers nicely and sinks right into the skin while covering any imperfections such as acne scarring. After it dries it leaves the skin with a dewy, natural looking glow. Although this is an oil free formulation I still use a primer and set with a powder for best wear. If not the oil in my t-zone begins to peek through. It stays on all day with the occasional blot here and there, but if I don’t blot I get very oily so there is not much oil control. Here is how it looks over my Black Radiance Complexion Perfection Primer and set with my Ben Nye Neutral Set
It looks very natural on. Throw on some blush, gloss and mascara and you are ready to go. Perfect for the weekend when you want something lighter and also very good for everyday wear if you already have great skin and don’t need a lot of coverage. Works well as a base for a full face of makeup too, I will show you in my next post.
The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer retails at $44 for 1.7 fl oz which is pretty steep but a little goes a long way. The tube will last for a while. It also comes in a compact form now as well.
Available at Sephora, Macy’s & Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s.

Sold! I’ve been tiptoeing around buying this for awhile and you’ve just convinced me it’s what I’ve been missing!
so glad I have 20%off to Sephora! ordering now!
Talk about perfect timing! Let me know how you like it 🙂
This stuff is gold and for a non-makeup wearer like me it’s perfect. All I need to do now is actually wear the tube I purchased and stop being lazy, lol. I didn’t know it came in compact form, thanks for the tip =)
No problem at all. Girl you better go on ahead and use that tube and stop letting that “gold” go to waste lol
I’m so happy I stumbled upon your blog. I really wanted to try this out and you almost convinced me, but I have a question. Do you like this more than the Sleek Be Beautiful Blemish Balm?
I like them both a lot but I feel that this is more of a true tinted moisturizer. The Sleek Blemish Balm is more full coverage with just one layer and with multiple layers it almost looks full coverage like a true foundation. It is even thicker in consistency. I can’t say that I like one more than the other though as their different.
