As much as I love red lipstick it’s not something that I reach for every day. I choose red when I want to add some spice or a little sex appeal… or when I’m in the mood for it. I find that red lipstick seems a bit too formal for everyday wear in my world, but what if it was a red lipstick with a gloss formulation, subdued and laid back. I think I can deal with that and MUFE Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in N45 is just that.
The MUFE Rouge Artist Natural Lipsticks, made of waxes and Cupuassu Butter, are ultra creamy and moisturizing with sheer but buildable coverage that gives a natural sheen to the lips. N45 is a neutral red that will work well with a variety of skintones and is perfect for everyday wear. It is not too bright or rich and is office appropriate. This shade of red is even great for the weekend. If you are afraid to try red lipstick this is a nice choice since it’s not extremely pigmented.
The lipstick glides on smooth and leaves the lips feeling very moisturized. It needs to be reapplied every few hours and of course after meals. The formula is not very long lasting. The lipstick is very soft in texture. I broke mine upon first application but I have a deluxe sample from Sephora so I am not sure if this applies to the full size. It has a faint perfumed scent with no taste that I could detect.
The Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural line has 50 shades, 18 of which are available from Sephora. All 50 shades are available from MUFE boutiques or online. I would definitely like to try this formulation in a few more shades. Retails at $19 for 3.5g.
