The consensus amongst us Brown Skinned Beauties seems to be that the selection of BB Creams in dark shades are just not dark enough. The general reason (excuse) being thrown around is that BB Creams were originally aimed toward the Asian Market. That’s all understandable, but now that the target market has expanded, so should the range of shades. On that note I would like to introduce you to Sleek MakeUp Be Beautiful Blemish Balm.
Sleek MakeUp Be Beautiful Blemish Balm is designed to protect, moisturize, prime and conceal the skin. It is a full coverage BB Cream that is rich in pigmentation, yet very lightweight. Unlike the BB Creams recently released in the western market (ex: Maybelline Dream Fresh Beauty Balm) it is more of a lightweight foundation than a tinted moisturizer. You may also use it like a concealer to cover skin imperfections and also layer it for more coverage. It contains red algae extract which has anti-aging properties, antioxidant Vitamin C which aids in the reduction of skin discoloration giving the skin a natural radiant glow, Vitamin E which protects the skin from UV damage, Jojoba Oil for moisture, and peptides to aid in the repair of damaged skin. What a winning combination. It also contains SPF15 in the form of titanium dioxide, which is not a lot so I suggest that you use another form of sunscreen as well. This actually works out as an advantage since the low levels of titanium dioxide doesn’t alter your appearance too much with flash photography.
The Be Beautiful Blemish Balm comes in four shades Fair, Light, Medium and Dark. Dark is the darkest shade I’ve encountered in a BB Cream yet. For reference I am NW45 in MAC and it fits my skintone perfectly with my Summer tan. It may be a little too dark for me in the Winter though when I am lighter, I will have to wait and see. Dark will work for NW45 and darker skintones.
I met up with Danielle from the Style and Beauty Doctor this weekend to get a sample of the Blemish Balm in Medium to also show you guys…
Medium, Dark
Medium is the perfect shade for the caramel toned Brown Skinned Beauties, think NW40-43. You can mix Medium and Dark to create the perfect shade as well. I will be mixing a litlle Medium with Dark if I need a lighter shade in the Winter. Check out how Dark looks on me…
I first apply a primer and conceal under my eyes with my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW40 , then apply a small amount of the Be Beautiful Blemish Balm using a Stippling Brush and set with Ben Nye Neutral Set. I apply the rest of my makeup as usual. It stays put all day and I use oil absorbing sheets mid-day for my t-zone. As you can see the coverage is amazing and it gives the skin a radiant look. This is perfect for everyday use!
The Sleek MakeUp Be Beautiful Blemish Balm retails at $13.99 $11.49 USD for 1.76 fl oz and will be available August 29th is available at Superdrug Stores and www.sleekmakeup.com

The bb cream looks sooo beautiful on you!! I am the same complexion and I’ve just been counting down the days until this is released! Lol I’m so excited!!
Lol You should love it. Thank you!
Yayy finally. I tried the Maybellline BB cream and it made me an oily mess and I had to put a powder to make it somewhat match me. I can’t wait to get this. Thanks for the post.
No problem. I can’t use the Maybelline one without powder to control the oil either!
You look gorgeous! I’m still trying the Maybelline BB Cream. I think this seems more suitable for us.
Thx Ash. The Sleek Blemish Balm is definitely more suitable for us!
It looks good on you. I can’t wait to try it. Thq for the info.
Love,
Thank you and no problem!
What color is your blush? and I don’t wear foundation at all unless for special occasions but this is nice! I need to try this!
This is perfect is you don’t normally wear foundation. I’m wearing MAC Raizin blush.
i am a maybelline dark BB cream user and i only use it and some under eye concealer. I think i may have normal/dry skin because it stays put as well as anything ever could during a down south summer. Would you say that the sleek one has more “coverage” or are they about the same. I love the sheerness of the maybeline one, but don’t think it’d be enough for the winter.
The Maybelline BB Cream is more like a tinted moisturizer, this is more like a light foundation. It definitely has more coverage.
Love the bb cream on your skin but I wish Sleek would just give in and have a US store already, can’t bear to pay that unbelievable shipping price.
Yes, the shipping is high. I only order when it’s enough to justify the cost of shipping or order with a friend.
love!!! wish that sleek was super easily available stateside, they have the BEST stuff.
i want their bb creams badly 😀

Let me know how you like it!
I did the same. I ordered the sleek BB cream and contour kit b/c they look great on you and we are the same skin tone. I FINALLY got mine yesterday after waiting 2 weeks. I tried it this am and the results were MAGICAL! I’m definitely ordering a ton of both the BB cream and contour kit the next time they have a sale/promotion. Thanks!!!!
So glad that they worked for you, no problem!
You’re amazing. Thanks for posting! Do you have a youtube channel? I’m nw45 also and I was considering the Iman BB cream but it’s expensive, and sheer. Also it seems a bit tough to match shades. Have you tried? Some of her other products are too greasy for my skin. Anyway thanks for posting again. This cream is beautiful on you. And you’re beautiful as well. Keep positive and sharing light with people!!
Thank you and no problem. I haven’t tried the Iman BB cream yet as I haven’t ran across it in store. Hopefully soon!
