Dare To Wear: NARS Exhibit A

NARS Exhibit A is the very first blush that I purchased from NARS and the one that made me fall in love. OMG this has to be THEE blush of all blushes.

Nars Exhibit A blush Dark Skin

NARS Exhibit A is the very first blush that I purchased from NARS and the one that made me fall in love. OMG this has to be THEE blush of all blushes. It is the most pigmented blush that I have in my collection. Extremely scary in the pan and just as scary on the cheeks if you don’t apply correctly lol.

Exhibit A is a super bright, extremely pigmented, matte orange red. You have to be very careful when applying this blush as it is easy to go overboard. Even a small dip of a blush brush is sometimes too much. I usually apply with a fan brush and build the intensity until I am satisfied.

NARS Exhibit A Blush Swatch

Exhibit A applies smooth and blends well. You can buff it into the skin to achieve that “natural flush.” Gorgeous on dark skin, even the darkest of dark. Brown Skinned Beauties, this is another must have. If you are fair skinned Exhibit A can work for you as well, you just have to be very gentle with application. Long lasting, it stays on through the entire work day without fading. Since it is a show stopper in itself, I usually wear it with winged liner and mascara and a red lip. I am wearing Wet ‘n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Purty Persimmon in this post.

NARS blush retails for $28 and can be purchased at NARS, Sephora and department store counters that carry NARS. If you lucked out and snatched up the Limited Edition Sleek MakeUp Scandalous Blush from the Stiletto Collection, it is almost an exact dupe. You can see swatches and a comparison here. MAC Pro Blush in Devil is very similar but a bit more orange with a fine shimmer. If you know of any more dupes feel free to put it in the comments.

Do you own Exhibit A?

  1. I love Exhibit A! It is one of my favorite blushes. I must say, when I first received it, I was afraid of how bright it was in the pan. But when I learned how to apply it lightly and build as I go, it really does flatter. Thanks for sharing this!

This blush looks super gorgeous on you, doll!

    1. Thank you so much Dre. I was afraid of it too and just looked at for a while but wouldn’t use. I need to pull it out more often!

    1. Thank you so much Ty and you are welcome. I’ve been wanting to feature this one for a while because I know a lot of beauties are afraid of it. Let me know how you like it! 🙂

  4. I love that blush! I have to check it out. Being that Im a NC42, I don’t know. I remember in a post a while back I mentioned to you about the Wet n Wild Purty Persimmon. It looks GREAT on you! That has been my go to color for the summer.

    1. Thanks hon. Give Exhibit a shot, you will love it. Ever since you mentioned Purty Persimmon I remembered how bad I wanted it and was so glad to find it. I love it!

  5. This is my first blush by NARS, also. I love it, but I always have to remember to be light with the brush. I also use Luster with it to calm it down a bit.

    1. Yeah you definitely have to be light on the brush. If input a little too much sometimes, I blend it out with powder foundation. That helps a lot

  6. Um can we get a full outfit shot!? That shirt…I’m kinda loving the print and neckline. I need to get IN! Lol.

  7. I think that Nyx blush in red is a dupe for Exhibit A, yes? I alternate between it and a Taos dupe for my everyday face. You inspired me to move beoynd that same berry-colored blush I’d been wearing for YEARS and I couldn’t be happier!

    1. NYX Red is more of a blue based red I believe, Exhibit A is more Orange. So glad to here that you’ve been switching it up. That’s awesome! 🙂

  8. hi;)

i’m starting as a newbie in the makeup world and don’t quite know where to start. i’m light like nw20 in mac. which blush do you think would be best for me? This one or Orgasm? this looks like such a gorgeous color but I don’t exactly wanna buy something that isn’t meant for me, cuz money doesn’t grow on trees;/

    1. I totally understand. If you’re NW 20 in MAC, I would go with NARS Orgasm or even NARS Taos. It will be easier for you to apply and blend, Exhibit will take a very light hand. Hope that helps 🙂

  9. I own Exhibit A and it was also one of my first blushes from NARS. I’ve played with some other colors while in Sephora, but none compare to Exhibit A. I also apply with a fan brush b/c like you said, if not applied correctly you will appear clownish! I definitely love this blush though…my go to for Spring & Summer.
