My skin is like an oil slick, especially in the Summer months. I have combination skin with a very oily t-zone and it’s worse when I use liquid foundation. That is why I am never without my Ben Nye Neutral Set. It keeps the oil at bay and keeps my makeup fresh all day. It’s truly a life or rather face saver!
Ben Nye Neutral Set Translucent Face Powder is a theatrical grade, colorless setting powder. It gives your makeup a flawless finish and lasts for hours without the shine creeping through. In the winter months I don’t have to touch up my makeup at all during the work day, but in the Summer I reapply to my t-zone about midday. It applies silky smooth and contains an antiperspirant ingredient (aluminum hydroxide) to help absorb oil and moisture and keep your makeup looking fresh. You can layer it on to freshen up makeup without it getting caked up as it is very lightweight, and since it is colorless it blends in with any skin tone without giving an “ashy” cast to the skin. This is my holy grail setting powder and I use it in my kit as well since it allows me to carry one shade of setting powder, minimizing bulk.
See how seamlessly it blends?!
The sifter jar is kind of awkward to use so I usually put some in a smaller sifter jar with my everyday makeup and pour a small amount in that top to use. I refill as necessary. A little bit goes a long way so a container will last a long while. The 1 oz mini shaker lasted an entire year with daily use for me. I apply using a powder puff to press Ben Nye Neutral Set into my skin to set makeup. Your skin may look a little pale at first and then it sinks right in giving that flawless finish.
Ben Nye Translucent Setting Powders comes in a variety of shades, Neutral Set and Banana Visage being very popular ones. It comes in three sizes- 1.5 oz , 3 oz and 8 oz and is super inexpensive in the range of $5-$25, prices vary from different retailers. You may purchase Ben Nye Neutral Set from Alcone, Camera Ready Cosmetics, Makeup Mania, Amazon, Ricky’s NYC and any store that carries Ben Nye and/or theatrical makeup.

I normally use Makeup Forever setting powder. Do you like this better than MUFE?
I don’t use MUFE setting powder. When I want the effects of the MUFE Setting Powder I use the e.l.f. HD Setting Powder which is a dupe 🙂
I have extremely oily skin as well . I currently use Black Opal’s oil-control formula Deluxe Finishing powder and it works pretty well in the summer. But I think I may have to give this a try as well. I tried Ben Nye’s final seal and it did nothing for me or the preservation of my make up, maybe the powder is different.
I haven’t used my Final Seal in a while. I usually use it to set tattoo makeup.
Thanks so much for posting this!!! I may need to cop that cause I have the same issue with my combination skin and oily T-Zone. I need to tell my sister about it too!!!

Thank you for being the only person I’ve seen to tell me how long the mini shaker lasts AND showing how it blends in! Thank you so much~!
You’re very welcome!
