MAC Raizin, The Everyday, Everywhere Blush

I know I've been raving about a lot of blushes around here but hands down, MAC Raizin has got to be my favorite. It's a must for the brown skinned beauties!

I know I’ve been raving about a lot of blushes around here but hands down, MAC Raizin has got to be my favorite! This is another must have for the Brown Skinned Beauties. It gives a natural flush and goes with a ton of makeup looks. I especially love it for wearing to work and when I can’t decide on what blush to wear with a random look, Raizin always fits the bill. No matter how many other blushes I accumulate I will be sure to keep this in my stash.

Raizin is a matte brown with red undertones. It kind of reminds me of the clay on the hills in the South, the kind that pregnant women love to eat. If you’re from the South you know what I’m talking about. Gorgeous on women of color but can work with many different complexions.

Raizin is extremely pigmented so you have to use a light hand, especially if you have a lighter complexion to avoid a muddy look. It may also be used to contour. Applies smooth, blends well and stays on all day. Got to love it!

Available at MAC Cosmetics $20. A bit too steep? Try NYX Cream Blush in Tan or Milani Blush in Sunset Beach which are both said to be close dupes. Sorry I can’t swatch to compare as I don’t own either. If you know of any other dupes feel free to put it in the comments.

Do you own MAC Raizin?

  1. what you know about pregnant women eating that clay?!? lol wow! you’d be surprised how many people don’t know about that, then again it is a southern thing! you look great and you’re right, raizin is a very clutch friendly blush =)

    1. Thanks girlie. I was born and raised in Brooklyn but my fam is from the South so I hear the stories. Raizin really does look like the red clay. I hear the white clay is a bit sweeter though ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. You look beautiful Erica! My goodness. I would ask you a question here, but I am impatient so I will just tweet you. I love it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. *covers eyes* I have yet to try one of MAC’s blushes. I’m always so leary of their face products, they seem really heavy but everyone loves this blush, maybe I will too. It looks great on you ๐Ÿ™‚

    ps. Love your hair!

  4. Hi Erica,

This is my first time commenting. I love your site and it is definitely a go to for ideas for my brown skin. The blush looks great, but I have to ask, what is the lipstick you are wearing? I would love to try that.

    1. Hi Keisha. Thank you so much for commenting, I love feedback from my readers ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I hear Cover Girl’s Golden Pink Blush could be a dupe. I have the Cover Girl blush and love it but I really don’t know if they are match or not because I have yet to purchase a MAC blush… If I were able to splurge on just one MAC blush which is the one you suggest is every brown girl must have?

    1. If you had to choose just one I would say Sweet As Cocoa. Very hard to overdo, versatile and super pretty for all brown girls!

  6. Hi Erica,

Beautiful pics as always. I don’t own Raizin but from the pics it looks like another close dupe would be La Femme’s blush in Sienna. That’s my go to blush and they’re extremely reasonable at less than $3 each. You can find them at makeupmania.com.

    1. Thank you. Oh… I have that one. Totally forgot about my La Femme Blushes. Going to have to do a swatch comparison. Thanks again ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I bought this blush because I heard some many recommend it. And I absolutely love it! It’s definitely versatile.
