MAC Viva Glam Nicki

I’ve been trying to convince myself for weeks that I am going to pass on the MAC Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick, but I finally caved in and picked it up. I am so glad that I did because it is absolutely stunning… and if it wasn’t, hey it’s for a good cause. Brown girls no need to be afraid of Viva Glam Nicki because you can definitely pull it off. Hell, I believe any complexion can pull it off as it leans neutral. Once again it’s all about application.

"MAC Viva Glam Nicki"

MAC Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick is described as a bright yellow pink with a Satin finish. I would call it a neutral bubble gum pink with slight coral undertones. It is definitely bright but can be toned down if applied lightly. MAC’s Satin finish lipsticks can be very drying and intensifies the appearance ofΒ every fine line and wrinkle making the lips look “crusty,” so you MUST exfoliate your lips well.Β  I exfoliated beforehand and you can still see some fine lines…

"MAC Viva Glam Nicki Brown Skin"

This is how Nicki looks straight out of the tube with no lipbalm or gloss. It has an almost neon appearance but is still very wearable. I passed on Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday lipstick as I felt it was not brown girl friendly and required too much manipulation to be wearable. That is not the case with Nicki. You can wear it straight out of the tube. However, I do suggest using a lipbalm prior to application to moisturize your lips and keep them from drying out. For extra moisture and color manipulation, you can always apply a lipgloss in a similar shade on top…

"MAC Viva Glam Nicki layered with Milani Haute Flash Flashy Lipgloss"

Here I layered Nicki with Milani Haute Flash Lipgloss in Flashy, a hot pink. I am loving this color combo!

MAC Viva Glam Nicki is a part of the Ricky & Nicki for MAC Viva Glam Collection, which also features a lip conditioner. Nicki retails for $14.50 and all proceeds go to the MAC AIDS Fund to help women, men and children living with and affected by AIDS. You may pick it up at any freestanding MAC store, MAC counter or online. You may not use your Pro Discount.

Have you picked up Viva Glam Nicki?
