Boots No7 Soft & Sheer Tinted Moisturizer Review

I've been having a hard time finding a tinted moisturizer to match my complexion. So I had high hopes for the Boots Soft & Sheer Tinted Moisturizer.

"Boots No7 Soft & Sheer Tinted Moisturizer Dark"

I’ve been having a pretty hard time finding a tinted moisturizer dark enough to match my complexion, so I usually just make my own using part moisturizer and part foundation. I was excited to try the Boots Soft & Sheer Tinted Moisturizer in Dark with high hopes that my search for the perfect tinted moisturizer would be over.

The Boots No7 Soft & Sheer Tinted Moisturizer contains SPF 15 to help protect your skin from the sun. It is lightweight, glides on smooth and moisturizes well. The pigmentation is sheer but can be built up for more coverage. If you want to cover any blemishes you will need to use a concealer along with it. It comes in 3 shades fair, medium and dark.

The tinted moisturizer in dark almost matched my skin perfectly but not quite. It is a little too light and to avoid the ashy look I add a small drop of Revlon PhotoReady foundation in Mocha. This makes it a perfect match. I apply a primer first, use concealer to cover any blemishes, apply the moisturizer and set it with a setting powder to control shine as I get oily in my t-zone. With this combination it stays all day as if I was using foundation. I like the results a lot…

The Boots No7 Soft & Sheer Tinted Moisturizer is perfect for those days when you just want to give a slightly polished look to your face or on the weekends when you are just running errands. It retails for $11.99 for 1.69 US Fl. Oz. and can be purchased at Target and Drugstore. A little expensive but a small amount goes a long way and it will last a long time. I highly recommend it if you can find a match for your skin.

  1. Great review hun,I may have to check it out soon coz I prefer light to medium coverage foundation and tinted moisturiser. Have u checked Laura Mercier they do great tinted moisturisers?

I love ur FOTD,gorgeous as always hun x

    1. Thanks Sharon. I will look into the Laura Mercier one. I’m trying to tone down my makeup a bit for everyday wear as I don’t need a lot. I use Revlon Colorstay almost every day but it’s full coverage in my opinion, so I cut it with an illuminator to sheer it down.

  2. I love your blog! Your reviews and photos are always precise, clear, and informative. Thanks for sharing….will have to check out this moisturizer soon!

  3. Your makeup always looks so fresh, flawless and perfect.. I am about the same skin tone as you and you got me feeling confiendent about wearing red lip stick.I have already purchase more reds and some of those NARS blushes. I am looking for advice.. I think you do a great job with color matching.. like your eyes and your lips.. my questions when your lips are bold, exactly what colors do you wear on your eyes, and vce versa.. when your eyes are bold or dramactic, what color lips do i wear so I wont look like a clown?

    1. Thank you so much. Typically when wearing bold lips like red I tone down the rest of my makeup and do neutral eyeshadow or just winged eyeliner, and also wear a natural color blush. However, I sometimes do bold eyes and bold lips as well. It can be done tastefully, it’s all about color coordinating. If my eyes and lips are both bold I keep the cheeks natural. If you are not comfortable with so much color stick to this rule… If your lips are bold keep your eyes and cheeks natural looking with nude eyeshadows or just winged eyeliner, if your eyes are bold go for a blush in the shade of your natural flush and nude lipstick. 4. That looks Gorg on you! I’m so glad you did this post because I’m looking for a tinted moisturizer. My skin is oily, so when running errands I either go bare or do a light dusting of MAC studio fix powder. But I’m going to try this Boots product.

  5. I’m going to have to try this one out. The only brand I like is by Sonia Kashuk. I’m obsessed with it. I dont even use foundation during the day anymore b/c it provides great coverage.

    Happy Holidays! Xx
