Yesterday I went to my doctor to get my annual physical and learned that I gained a whopping 13 lbs over the last year. Last September I was 141 lbs and I am now 154 lbs. I didn’t even realize that my weight gain was that extreme. That was the last straw so last night I decided to knock the dust off of my Wii Fit Plus and start a new routine to get back into shape. Upon completing my body test I learned that almost 10 of those lbs I’ve gained in the past 6 months. The system quickly gave my Mii a pooch and deemed me overweight according to my Body Mass Index (BMI).
Now I usually maintain around 145 lbs but the max weight that I am comfortable at is 150 lbs. So I set my first goal to lose 4.1 lbs in one month. This will put me back at 150 lbs and put my BMI back into the normal range. Once I reach that goal, I then plan to lose another 5 lbs and be 145 lbs by the end of the year. This way I don’t have to feel like I am on eggshells about my weight. Although I would like to lose a few pounds, I would really like to tone up as well. Specifically my core and my thighs. I did a few searches online to see what kind of ab routines people were doing on their Wii and decided on this 30 Minute Wii Fit Abs Workout with slight modifications. Here is the routine:
1.Yoga (12 minutes)
Half Moon
Bridge
Chair
Shoulder Stand
Tree
Triangle
2. Strength (8 mins)
Jackknife
Torso Twists
Single-Arm Stand
Plank
Single-Leg Twist
3. Aerobics (10 mins)
Super Hula Hoop
I did the routine for the first time last night and it is awesome. I could really feel my muscles stretching and contracting and I worked up a pretty good sweat. I am going to try my best to do my routine everyday either before I go to bed at night or in the morning before I get started with the day. I’ve already been watching what I eat, not really a diet per say but choosing healthier options and eating smaller portions. I’ve also been attempting to drink more water which I am bad at. With the modifications to my diet and my new workout routine I feel that I am on the right track to getting fit. I will keep you guys updated.
My cute yoga mat that I got from mark (Avon) a few years ago that has been sitting in a corner collecting dust. Not anymore!
What do you do to stay fit?

Good luck lady! I started my weight loss journey about a month ago. Giving myself till Dec. 31st to lose 30 pounds. I’ve lost 5 so 25 more to go! Woooooop! Wooooop! I’ve been doing Jillian Michaels, treadmill, and elliptical. I have a Wii Fit…guess I need to crank that sucker back up.
Thank you so much and good luck to you as well, you can do it! I highly suggest that you add your Wii Fit to your routine as it works wonders if you actually put in the work. The last time I started a routine I lost 3 lbs in one week and then I got lazy. Pitiful me lol 🙂
I love yoga & pilates.
I find it quite a struggle sometimes to up my fitness routine. I started a fitness blog for motivation. Girl I’m just allergic to sweat lmao but it’s important to stay healthy.
Reminds me I must write a blog post.
Keep up the work & good luck sweetheart xoxo
Thank you so much and I totally understand. My usual workout routine is lifting the fork to my mouth lol. Good luck to you as well and post the link to your fitness blog. I would love to check it out 🙂
