MAC “O” Lipstick was one of my very first MAC lipsticks and it is still one of my favorite go to lipsticks for Fall. Don’t get it twisted though as it works all year round (especially in the Summer with bronzed, glowing cheeks.)
Described as a purplish-red with golden pearl frost, the description hits the nail on the head but MAC O looks different on everyone. On some people the plum is more apparent and on others the bronze is, for me it is the latter. It looks like a bronze with plum undertones. Definitely gives a duochromatic effect.
My theory about MAC O after seeing it on others is that on lighter complexions it leans more plummy red with bronze undertones, and on darker complexions it leans more bronze with plum undertones.
When wiped off on a napkin it looks like a plum lippie with golden shimmer. I find that MAC frost formula lippies can be very drying and that is definitely the case with “O” so I always apply a lip balm as a base first.
In the tube MAC O looks like your typical bronze lipstick but boy did it have me fooled. I actually passed on this one numerous times before I purchased it and I am so glad that I gave it a try. O is the only MAC lipstick that I’ve ran out of and bought over and over again. In fact I just cracked open a new tube today. Love it.
