It is supposedly normal to lose 50-100 hairs per day due to the normal hair cycle. These hairs should be coming straight from the scalp, follicle attached. That is still too many in my opinion. But I’ll digress. If you notice that the hair you are losing is falling in broken pieces or coming from a certain area, this is considered hair breakage or balding. Stop this hair loss in it’s tracks with Garlic.
Garlic is a natural remedy to slow down hair loss as it stimulates blood flow to the scalp and removes harmful toxins and bacteria. Not only can garlic put hair loss to a halt, it actually adds body and shine to the hair, as well as thickness. Suffering from hair loss and want to add garlic to your hair routine? Try these easy at home treatments…
Cut open a fresh clove of garlic and rub the juice or clove directly onto the area where you are experiencing hair loss, or on your entire scalp. Massage your scalp with olive oil and cover your hair. Leave the treatment on overnight and wash well in the morning. If you prefer not to leave the treatment overnight, cover the hair with a plastic cap, sit under a hooded dryer for 30 minutes and then wash. Repeat weekly until you are satisfied with the results.
Mix fresh pressed garlic juice or minced garlic with your shampoo, conditioner or hot oil treatment. Wash thoroughly.
To save your nostrils, use an unscented garlic shampoo and conditioner. I use the Nutrine brand as I suffer from hair breakage and shedding on the regular. The Nutrine Unscented Garlic Shampoo and Conditioner helps extensively. It is really inexpensive for a 20 oz bottle, and it smells like baby powder.
The easiest way to incorporate garlic into your hair routine without getting your hands dirty or wreaking of the stench is to take deodorized garlic capsules. They will save your breathe, and they’re also good for cardiovascular health.
I'm currently going the ayurvedic route…so I'm using herbs from India like Bhringraj, Fenugreek, Brahmi, Neem, Amla, coconut oil, vatika oil and incorporate that in my weekly shampoo and conditioning treatments. I didn't know about garlic helping hair loss and have been using olive oil instead but I will definitely bring Garlic on board. Thank you Mz. More
No problem at all. I have been extremely interested in the Ayurvedic reigimen but haven\’t tried it yet. Hopefully I can give it a go soon.
I've never heard of garlic as a treatment for hair loss, and I had no idea there was such a thing as garlic shampoo! I've lost a ton of hair in the past few years, so this new information is very interesting to me. 🙂
I am glad that you found this information interesting. Helpfully it can help you to combat the hair loss that you\’ve been experiencing. 🙂
i hadnt thought about garlic. my mom loves the stuff but i dont know what she takes it for. her locks are brittle and breaking but i dont think she's had as much a problem with that as she did last summer. for my hair breakage, i was using coconut oil and protein treatments. im wanting to wear my hair short so i havent really been consistent with that. i feel my hair is still growing pretty fast.
Maybe your mom should add a little glycerin or jamaican black castor oil to her routine for added moisture. As far as the protein treatments are concerned, be sure to alternate with moisturizing treatments as too much protein is a no no and causes further breakage.
I take garlic tablts but they give me a nasty garlicky after taste. Where do you pick up your nutrine shampoo?
My recent post RIP Elizabeth
The garlic tablets saves your breath but unfortunately not your belch lol… but seriously, I feel your pain. I found the Nutrine shampoo and conditioner in my local neighborhood beauty supply store, so you should try there.
Ive recently started taking garlic pills for my immune system hair skin and much more. i hope i see some progress my hair was thinning bad and I am a white girl lol.
i use the odorless garlic capsules ,you can buy at walmart.
so cut open or pop about 7 or so and simply add it to your favorite conditioner. It works to stop fall out and it adds a ton of natural volume to my fine hair. This is so inexpensive and it will cost you 6.00 for the garlic capsules.
